Very good morning my dear readers of #hive, happy Tuesday to all of you and I hope you are feeling great, for those who don't know me yet, I introduce myself, my name is Manuel and this is my art blog and a little more. Today I come to bring you what would be my entry for the dynamics of this new week of my dear people of the #Splinterlands community, where they invite us to illustrate characters from their card game; this time I chose a card which I had been wanting to illustrate for weeks, and it is the card of (Olivia of the Brook), this character is a young girl who grew up in exile along with her faithful Snow Leopard, this thanks to the Chaos Empire razed Praetoria and conquered the Kingdom of Lyveria, During her exile Olivia learned to hunt and forage for her own food, she also spent days and nights practicing the magical arts taught by her father, in the hope of one day being able to free her people:
Muy buenos días mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de #hive, feliz martes para todos y espero que se encuentren de maravilla, para los que aun no me conocen, pues me presento, mi nombre es Manuel y este es mi blog de arte y un poco más. El día de hoy vengo a traerles lo que sería mi entrada para la dinámica de esta nueva semana de mi querida gente de la comunidad de #Splinterlands, donde nos invitan a ilustrar personajes de su juego de cartas; esta vez elegí una carta la cual tenia semanas con ganas de ilustra, y se trata de la carta de (Olivia of the Brook), este personaje se trata de una joven que creció en el exilio junto con su fiel Leopardo de las nieves, esto gracias a que Imperio del Caos arrasó Praetoria y conquistó el Reino de Lyveria, durante su exilio Olivia aprendió a cazar y a buscar sus propios alimentos, además de que paso días y noches practicando las artes mágicas enseñadas por su padre, esto con la esperanza de algún día poder liberar a su pueblo:
PROCESS / PROCESO
Well the first thing I did was to start my work making strokes and building a skeleton or sketch of the drawing, in this case I drew Olivia on the left side of my canvas, and just behind her I drew the great and majestic snow leopard as if it was coming out of the forest while making a great roar. To begin I started painting the character of the girl, for this I searched within my color palette some orange and red tones that would help me to build a quite natural and realistic skin, but above all to give the character a quite youthful and lively appearance; later with the airbrush I applied some warmth and life to the cheeks, and with yellow, orange and brown tones to build a full bright look for the character.
Bueno lo primero fue darle inicio a mi obra realizando trazos y construyendo un esqueleto o bosquejo del dibujo, en este caso dibuje a Olivia en el lado izquierdo de mi lienzo, y justo detrás de ella dibuje al gran y majestuoso leopardo de las nieves como si este viniese saliendo del bosque mientras hace un gran rugido. Para comenzar empecé pintado al personaje de la chica, para esto busqué dentro de mi paleta de colores unas tonalidades naranjas y rojas que me ayudaran a construir una piel bastante natural y realista, pero que sobre todo le dieran al personaje ese apariencia bastante juvenil y vivas; posteriormente con el aerógrafo fui aplicando un poco de calidez y vida a las mejillas, y con tonos amarillos, naranjas y marrones construir una mirada full brillante para el personaje.
For the 2nd stage of the work I focused more on the construction of the clothes, in this case I chose a range of brown and yellow tones to build a kind of nightgown with long sleeves and many folds in the area of the arms; then with green and yellow tones I created in a top layer a long dress with open sleeves, very much in the style of Japanese garments or something like that, with the greens I formed the base and with the yellows in a staggered way I placed golden details in the lower area. In the painting of the hair I wanted to make a blonde hair but short, for this I used my bristle brush almost in its entirety, since this brush allows me to achieve a more realistic texture and details of locks.
Para la 2da etapa de la obra me centre mas en la construcción de la ropa, en esta caso elegí una gama de tonos marrones y amarillos para construir una especie de camisón de mangas largas y muchos pliegues en la zona de los brazos; luego con tonos verdes y amarillos cree en una capa superior un vestido largo de mangas descubiertas, muy al estilo de las prendas japonesas o algo por el estilo, con los verdes forme la base y con los amarillos de forma escalonada coloque detalles dorados en la zona baja. En el pintado del pelo quise hacer una cabellera rubia pero corta, para ello usé mi pincel de cerdas casi en su totalidad, ya que este pincel me permite lograr una textura y detalles de mechones más realista.
Regarding the magic staff I first used brown tones to make it resemble a texture of tree branches, then for the central part I used purple, violet and a bit of white to create a large crystal or precious gem where the magical powers of (Olivia of the Brook) are channeled. For the creation of the Snow Leopard the first thing I did was to create a base of gray tones a little greenish and from there I was climbing little by little forming the volume in the body of the creature, here again I made use of my bristle brush to achieve a very realistic fur that stood out on the edges of the leopard's body; in the case of the fur in the area between the neck and chest I used violet and lilac tones as a 2nd texture of fur.
Con respecto al báculo mágico primero use tonos marrones para que se asemejara a una textura de ramas de árbol, luego para la parte central use morados, violetas y un poco de blanco para crear un gran cristal o gema preciosa en donde se canalizan los poderes mágicos de (Olivia of the Brook). Para la creación del Leopardo de las nieves lo primero que hice plasmar una base de tonos grises un poco verdosos y de allí fui escalando poco a poco formando el volumen en el cuerpo de la criatura, aquí nuevamente hice uso de mi pincel de cerdas para lograr un pelaje muy realista que sobresaliera en los bordes del cuerpo del leopardo; en el caso del pelaje de la zona entre el cuello y pecho usé tonos violetas y lila como una 2da textura de pelaje.
