Very good morning my dear readers, happy Tuesday to all, I hope you are doing great and are having a great day, for those who are new here I introduce myself, my name is Manuel and I want to welcome a new opportunity to my blog. This time I come with a new entry for dynamics of this new week of my people of the #Splinterlands community, and I wanted to choose for my participation a character focused on the theme or style of hybrid characters, which is why here I want to present my representation of the letter (Javelin Thrower); this character basically deals with a very small tribe of warriors whose specialty is the attack with javelins, these wild women are characterized by wearing snake or reptile skin suits that cover almost their entire body making it easier for them to camouflage themselves in the forest, but also giving them a super intimidating appearance:
Muy buenos días mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras, feliz martes para todos, espero que se encuentren super bien y que estén teniendo un excelente día, para los que sean nuevos por aquí pues me presento, mi nombre es Manuel y les quiero dar la bienvenida una nueva oportunidad a mi blog. Esta ocasión vengo con una nueva entrada para dinámica de esta nueva semana de mi gente de la comunidad de #Splinterlands, y quise elegir para mi participación un personaje enfocado en la temática o el estilo de los personajes híbridos, es por ello que aquí les quiero presentar mi representación de la carta (Javelin Thrower); este personaje básicamente trata sobre una tribu muy pequeña de guerreras cuya especialidad es el ataque con jabalinas, estas salvajes mujeres se caracterizan por llevar trajes de piel de serpiente o reptiles que cubren casi todo su cuerpo facilitándoles camuflarse dentro del bosque, pero además dándoles una apariencia super intimidante:
PROCESS / PROCESO
As in every process of my illustrations I like to start making a good sketch that gives structure and body to my work, in this case I opted for a pose of almost full body in which the character (Javelin Thrower) was holding with both hands his spear as if preparing to attack or throw himself to someone, while in his face you can see a somewhat smiling expression, but at the same time evil. In the coloring process I first colored the visible areas of the character's skin, in this case the area of the face, chest and hands would be where I used a little saturated colors like salmon, red and pink; something I like in all my works is to give enough detail and realism to the characters, that's why I work very well the shadows and lights in several layers.
Como en cada proceso de mis ilustraciones me gusta empezar realizando un buen boceto que le de estructura y cuerpo a mi obra, en este caso opte por una pose de cuerpo casi completo en el cual el personaje de (Javelin Thrower) estuviese sosteniendo con ambas manos su lanzar como si se prepararse para atacar o arrojarse a alguien, mientras en su rostro se logra apreciar una expresión un tanto sonriente, pero al mismo tiempo malvada. En el proceso de coloreado me ocupe primero de colorear las zonas visibles de la piel del personaje, en este caso la zona del rostro, pecho y manos serian donde utilice colores un poco saturados como el Salmon, rojo y rosado; algo que me gusta en todas mis obras es darle el suficiente nivel de detalle y realismo a los personajes, es por ello que trabajo muy bien las sombras y luces en varias capas.
For the painting of the eyes I used a range of red and crimson tones that I liked a lot, this for the character to have that half reptilian appearance of the snakes, and for the lips I painted a slight smile with purple and soft purple tones. With respect to the snake suit if I took a little longer since the suit would cover most of the body of the (Javelin Thrower), in this case I varied and applied several shades of green trying to give a rough texture to the suit, but at the same time it would look tight to the silhouette of her body; with more yellow tones I was in charge of texturing the part of the belly and the part of the suit that goes over her head with the appearance of a cobra's head. In the forearms I used red tones to create a kind of metallic protective bracelets, and with these same tones I used them to give shape to the eyes.
Para el pintado de los ojos use una gama de tonos rojos y carmesí que me gustaron mucho, esto para el personaje tuviese esa apariencia medio reptiliana de las serpientes, y para los labios pinte una leve sonrisa con tonos morados y purpuras suaves. Con respecto al traje de serpiente si me demore un poco más ya que el traje cubriría la mayor parte del cuerpo de la (Javelin Thrower), en este caso varié y aplique varias tonalidades de verdes tratando de darle una textura rugosa al traje, pero que al mismo tiempo se viese ajustado a la silueta de su cuerpo; con tonos mas amarillos me encargue de texturizar la parte del vientre y la parte del traje que va sobre su cabeza con apariencia de cabeza de cobra. En los antebrazos use tonos rojos para crear especies de brazaletes protectores metálicos, y con estos mismos tonos los use para darle forma a los ojos.
In the case of the spear or javelin I used gray and blue tones to create the metallic base structure of the weapon, then with blue and white tones not so pure I took care of building the sharp tip, in this area I used a thinner brush, but with little pressure and opacity, this to define well the details of the edges, give that metallic texture with many shines, and of course in the edges that represent the edge that has the tip of this weapon. For the background I was in charge of setting everything as the (Javelin Thrower) will be in the middle of a dark forest, for this I first degrade a little the background with some green and yellow tones, then with the green color I created some complementary bushes all over the ground and towards the background giving a little depth to the scenery and the illustration; finally with brown tones I created some trees and applied some shadows produced by the treetops on it.
En el caso de la lanza o jabalina use tonos grises y azules para crear la estructura base metálica del arma, luego con tonos azules y blancos no tan puros me ocupe de construir la afilada punta, en esta zona use un pincel mas fino, pero con poca presión y opacidad, esto para definir bien los detalles de los bordes, darle esa textura metálica con muchos brillos, y por supuesto en los bordes que representen el filo que tiene la punta de esta arma. Para el fondo me encargue de ambientar todo como se la (Javelin Thrower) se encontrará en medio de un oscuro bosque, para esto primero degrade un poco el fondo con algunos tonos verdes y amarillos, luego con el color verde fui creando algunos arbustos complementarios por todo el suelo y hacia el fondo dándole un poco de profundidad al escenario y la ilustración; finalmente con tonos marrones cree algunos arboles y aplique algunas sombras producidas por las copas de los árboles sobre ella.
