¡Hola comunidad de Aliens! Espero que todos ustedes se encuentren muy bien el día de hoy. En esta oportunidad les comparto mi más reciente ilustración, la misma está inspirada en el invocador dragon Quix The Devious de @splinterlands para participar en el concurso de arte de esta semana. Quiero comentarles que he tomado algunas decisiones estos días, una de ellas es probar diferentes estilos en cuanto a ilustración se refiere, a decir verdad, siento que me he limitado a solo una forma de trabajar y por ende a no salir de mi zona de confort lo que me ha llevado a no probar cosas nuevas, por lo que he decidido romper un poco esa rutina y trabajar de una forma un poco más libre. Esta ilustración es mi nuevo comienzo de probar cosas nuevas ¡Espero que les guste tanto como a mí y les doy las gracias por tomarse el tiempo de leer mi publicación!
Hello Aliens community! I hope you all are feeling great today. This time I share with you my latest illustration, it's inspired by the dragon summoner Quix The Devious from @splinterlands to participate in this week's art contest. I want to tell you that I have made some decisions these days, one of them is to try different styles in terms of illustration, to tell you the truth, I feel that I have limited myself to only one way of working and therefore not to leave my comfort zone which has led me to not try new things, so I decided to break that routine and work a little freer. This illustration is my new beginning to try new things. I hope you like it as much as I do and I thank you for taking the time to read my publication!

Para llevar a cabo a este personaje me plantee 3 etapas de trabajo, la primera seria trabajar en el boceto y composición de la ilustración, la segunda en aplicar los colores base siguiendo las líneas del boceto y como tercera etapa trabajaría las luces y sombras creando así volumen. Esto sonaba bastante sencillo cuando lo pensé, pero realmente fue todo un reto para mí. Comencé realizando el boceto del personaje tomando en cuenta a la referencia del mismo y un gran aliado esta vez fue el Lore que nos proporciona el sitio web del juego, gracias a este texto pude comprender un poco más al personaje y tener un poco de contexto de este. Al tratarse de un mago agregue algunos elementos que me permitieron trazar el rumbo que tendría esta ilustración.
To carry out this character I had 3 stages of work, the first one was to work on the sketch and composition of the illustration, the second one was to apply the base colours following the lines of the sketch and as a third stage I would work on the lights and shadows creating volume. This sounded quite simple when I thought about it, but it was really a challenge for me. I started making the sketch of the character taking into account the character's reference and a great ally this time was the Lore provided by the website of the game, thanks to this text I could understand a little more the character and have a little context of this. Being a wizard I added some elements that allowed me to trace the course that this illustration would have.
Finalizado el boceto pasé a mi segunda etapa de trabajo, en esta empecé a aplicar los colores base al personaje. Esta para mí fue una de las etapas más difíciles ya que al no tener un lineart tenía que utilizar mi boceto como guía para trazar los contornos y bloques del personaje, en esta etapa me tomé bastante tiempo ya que de cierto modo no lograba que los contornos siguieran las formas exactas de mi boceto, pero, poco a poco fui logrando rellenar todos estos bloques de color hasta finalmente lograr desaparecer mi boceto.
Once the sketch was finished I moved on to my second stage of work, in this one I started to apply the base colours to the character. This was one of the most difficult stages for me because I didn't have a lineart and I had to use my sketch as a guide to draw the contours and blocks of the character, in this stage I took a lot of time because in a way I couldn't get the contours to follow the exact shapes of my sketch, but, little by little I managed to fill all these blocks with colour until finally I managed to make my sketch disappear.
Finalmente pase a la tercera etapa, en esta tenía que aplicar las luces y sombras al personaje con la finalidad de detallar y dar volumen a este. Para ello decidí probar un pincel con una textura de puntos de dispersion, este me permitió aplicar las primeras sombras, así como para detallar los elementos que por falta de línea no tenía una forma en concreto. Una vez aplicadas las sombras empecé a jugar con las luces, para estas utilicé algunos modos de fusion de capa para no tener que cambiar entre tantos tonos de color. Aplicada una base de luz quise dar aún más detalle agregando una segunda capa de luz, esto me permitió dar aún más volumen a los elementos. Para finalizar al personaje aplique algo más de luz a sus elementos mágicos los cual le dio el efecto que buscaba en estos.
Finally I moved on to the third stage, in this one I had to apply the lights and shadows to the character in order to detail and give volume to it. For this I decided to try a brush with a texture of dispersion points, this allowed me to apply the first shadows, as well as to detail the elements that for lack of line didn't have a concrete form. Once the shadows were applied I started to play with the lights, for these I used some layer blending modes so I didn't have to change between so many tones of colour. Once I applied a light base I wanted to give even more detail adding a second layer of light, this allowed me to give even more volume to the elements. To finish the character I applied some more light to his magic elements which gave him the effect I was looking for.

Y así doy por culminada esta ilustración, como detalle final le agregue un fondo en forma de degradado como detalle final, además de colocar las sombras de proyección a los elementos. And so I finish this illustration, as a final detail I added a gradient background as a final detail, in addition to placing the shadows of projection to the elements.
