I whish all the best to all the hivers who making this community great and full of art (Drawings, mixed art....).
Keep making art cause we are artistic people. šš„
And now for the Splinterlands Art Contest on Hive, I created a poster featuring the legendary card Alric Stormbringer.
My goal was to enhance the card's original artwork while adding my own creative touches. Hereās a detailed breakdown of my design process:
Step 1: Initial Composition in Canva
I started by using Canva to design the posterās base layout. First, I placed the original Alric Stormbringer card artwork as the focal point. Then, I carefully selected a background that complemented the cardās mystical and powerful theme. Finally, I added the cardās name in a stylized font to ensure clarity and visual appeal.
Step 2: Digital Enhancements in Sketchbook
After finalizing the basic design in Canva, I imported the image into Sketchbook for advanced detailing. Here, I focused on enhancing key visual elements:
- Fire Effects: I intensified the fire in Alricās hand, making it more dynamic and vibrant.
- Scepter Glow: I amplified the radiance of the scepter, giving it a magical, luminous effect.
- Mist Effects: To add depth, I incorporated a subtle fog effect at the base of the character, creating an eerie, mystical atmosphere.
Step 3: Final Touches in a Photo Editor
To perfect the poster, I used a photo editing software for the finishing adjustments:
- Darkened Edges: I applied a slight vignette effect to frame the artwork and draw attention to the center.
- Color Saturation: I increased the color saturation to make the artwork more vivid and eye-catching.
- Shadow Emphasis: I deepened the shadows and highlights on the character, making Alric Stormbringer appear more three-dimensional and imposing.
Conclusion
Through a combination of Canva, Sketchbook, and photo editing tools, I transformed the original card into a striking poster that highlights Alric Stormbringerās power and mystique. Every adjustmentāfrom the fiery glow to the misty ambianceāwas carefully crafted to enhance the cardās fantasy aesthetic while staying true to its essence.
Iām excited to submit this piece to the Splinterlands Art Contest and hope it captures the admiration of both judges and fellow players!
And now the process by the steps from zero to the end :
And here is the last touches and the last result of course dear friends.:
Thank you for taking the time to view my Alric Stormbringer poster design! Crafting this piece was an exciting journey, combining multiple digital tools to enhance the cardās original artwork. I aimed to capture the essence of its power and mystique while adding my own creative flairāfrom intensifying the fire effects to deepening the shadows for a more dramatic presence.
Iād truly love to hear your thoughts! Whether itās general impressions, constructive criticism, or ideas for future improvements, your feedback is incredibly valuable to me. Did the composition draw your attention? Were the color and lighting adjustments effective? Would you have approached any elements differently? Every perspective helps me refine my skills and explore new techniques.
Art is a continuous learning process, and community input plays a huge role in growth. If you have suggestions for other tools, effects, or even card themes I should try next, Iām all ears! Letās keep inspiring each other.
Grateful for your support, and I hope this design resonated with you. Until next timeākeep creating and sharing the magic! š„šØ
