Hello, friends! It is my pleasure to participate once again in this edition of the Splinterlands weekly art contest and to share with you one of my most recent pixel art works.
This time, I have used a card called Gobson Sniper as a reference image. It features a cute elf with green skin, red eyes, and long ears, carrying a bow and arrows. According to their lore, these creatures are infallible snipers who attack from tree branches, roofs, and rooftops, with the aim of protecting their territory and settling scores, ensuring respect for the Gobson family.
¡Hola amigos! Es un gusto para mí participar nuevamente en esta edición del concurso de arte semanal de splinterlands y poder compartir con ustedes uno de mis más recientes trabajos de arte en pixeles.
En esta oportunidad he tomado como imagen de referencia una carta que lleva por nombre Gobson Sniper y está representada por un simpático elfo de piel de color verde, ojos rojos y orejas largas, el cual lleva consigo un arco y flechas. Ya que según su lore, estas criaturas son infalibles francotiradores y atacan desde las ramas de los árboles, techos y tejados, con el objetivo de proteger su territorio y ajustar cuentas, haciendo respetar a la familia Gobson.
To develop this character, I created a sketch using black pixels, with dimensions of 103x103 pixels.
As for the characteristics I decided to give this FanArt, I developed a full-body character in the Chibi style, creating a mini version of Gobson Sniper.
It reminded me a lot of the characters in one of my favorite video games called Minecraft, except that I try to make my characters a little less square. 😅
Para desarrollar este personaje he elaborado un boceto hecho en pixeles negros, con una dimensión de 103x103 pixeles respectivamente.
En cuanto a las características que decidí darle a este FanArt, desarrollé un personaje de cuerpo completo, al estilo Chibi, logrando una versión mini de Gobson Sniper.
La cual me recordó mucho a los personajes de uno de mis videojuegos favoritos llamado Minecraft, solo que a mis personajes trato de hacerlos un poco menos cuadrados. 😅
Once the sketch was ready, it was time to color it, so I used the original character's color palette as a reference for the coloring.
I started by coloring the character's skin, using greenish tones, so I applied a light green base color, then gradually deepened and shaped the elf's face through shading, adding pixels with dark green tones.
As for the lighting, I kept it very soft, since I started with a fairly light base color.
Una vez con el boceto ya listo llegó el momento de colorear, así que para el coloreado he tomado de referencia la paleta de colores del personaje original.
Inicié coloreando la piel del personaje, usando tonos verdosos, por lo que apliqué una base de color verde clara, luego fui profundizando y dando forma poco a poco al rostro del elfo mediante el sombreado, agregando pixeles con tonos verde oscuros.
Y en cuanto a la iluminación que le di fué muy suave, ya que inicié con una base de color bastante clara.
I continued with the details of the face, so the next step was to color the eyes and mouth. For the eyes, I used red, and for the mouth, I used white and gray, since the character has a mischievous smile and you can see his teeth.
Prosegui con los detalles del rostro, así que lo siguiente fué colorear los ojos y boca, para los ojos usé un color rojo y para la boca, blancos y grises, ya que el personaje lleva una sonrisa pícara y se ven sus dientes.
I proceeded to color the hair, using a light orange shade for the base, then added shadows in darker orange tones and a little light orange, with some yellow undertones for the highlights.
Pasé a colorear el cabello, usando un tono anaranjado claro para la base, luego añadí sombras en tonos naranjas más oscuros y un poco de anarajando claro, con algo de matiz amarillo para las luces.
The next step was to color the hat he is wearing, and with that I finished coloring the entire upper part of the character.
Lo siguiente fué colorear el gorro que lleva puesto y con eso terminé el coloreado de toda la parte superior del personaje.
All that remained was to color the clothes, so I colored them little by little, part by part, starting with the shirt, then the belt and pants, then the boots, and finally the cape he is wearing.
Ya solo restaba el coloreado de la ropa, así que la fui coloreando poco a poco y parte por parte, empezando por la camisa, luego la correa y el pantalón, después las botas y por último la capa que lleva puesta.
Once I had finished the character's structure, I felt that something was missing, and that was none other than his bow and arrow, so I couldn't leave it like that. I set myself the task of drawing his bow and arrow on a top layer.
At first, it was a bit complicated because I couldn't achieve the symmetry I needed; it was a bit uneven, so I had to try several times until I finally achieved the desired result.
Una vez que ya tenía hecha toda la estructura del personaje, sentía que le faltaba algo y eso era nada más y nada menos que su arco y flecha, así que no podía dejarlo así, por lo que me di a la tarea de dibujar en una capa superior su arco y flecha.
Al principio fué algo complicado, porque no lograba la simetría que necesitaba, quedaba algo disparejo, por lo que tuve que intentar varias veces, hasta que por fin logré conseguir el resultado deseado.
All that was left was to create the background. I chose the background colors from the original letter, added a light green to the entire canvas, and in the middle I added a darker green square.
It was a fairly simple background, without too much detail, so as not to overshadow the character.
In addition to that, I resized the canvas, making it larger for better quality, without altering the initial pixels.
And here is the final artwork. I hope you like it.
Ya solo quedaba hacerle el fondo, escogí los colores de fondo de la carta original, añadí un verde claro en todo el lienzo y en medio agregué un cuadro de un color verde más oscuro.
Fué un fondo bastante sencillo, sin tanto detalle, para no opacar al personaje.
Además de eso, redimensioné el lienzo, dándole un tamaño más grande, para una mejor calidad, sin alterar los pixeles iniciales.
Y aquí les dejo el trabajo de arte final, solo espero que les guste.
