Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! Taking as reference and inspiration the Flying Squid card and character, I made a somewhat humanized version, but without leaving aside the character itself. I could say that it was a sort of human and squid hybrid personified for my version of Flying Squid for the Splinterlands art contest.

Hola gente bonita! ¡Espero estén súper bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Tomando como referencia e inspiración la carta y personaje de Flying Squid, hice un versión un tanto humanizada, pero sin dejar de lado al personaje en sí. Podría decir que fue una especie de híbrido humano y calamar personificado para mi versión de Flying Squid para el concurso de arte de Splinterlands.

I started making the sketch taking as a reference the original character, which is basically a squid, and I structured it little by little, making the fusion of a face and the squid's body. To be honest, it didn't take me a lot of time to make and finish the sketch, since in general it was a very easy drawing to do.

Comencé haciendo el boceto tomando como referencia la personaje original, que básicamente es un calamar y lo estructure poco a poco, haciendo la fusión de un rostro y el cuerpo del calamar. Para ser sincero, no me tomo mucho tiempo hacer y terminar el boceto, ya que en general fue un dibujo demasiado fácil de hacer.

At first I was going to do it in digital, but I ended up painting it in traditional. And speaking of painting, to do the color work in this illustration, what I did was to see the colors that the original character had in order to integrate them into my drawing, which is basically what I always do.

Al principio lo iba a hacer en digital, pero termine por pintarlo en tradicional. Y hablando de pintar, para hacer el trabajo de color en esta ilustración, lo que hice fue ver los colores que tenia el personaje original para así integrarlos en mi dibujo, que es básicamente lo que siempre hago.

I used watercolors to paint the drawing and to detail certain areas to add more color saturation, I used some wood colors. The painting didn't take me so much time, since it was only one main color and the second one was a shadow. Then I used my mechanical pencil to define or give a little bit of contaste to the drawing.

Use acuarelas para pintar el dibujo y para detallar ciertas zonas y así agregar mas saturación en cuanto al color, use algunos colores de madera. El pintado no me llevo tanto tiempo, puesto a que solo era un color principal y el segundo sombra. Para luego definir o darle un poco de contaste al dibujo con mi portaminas.
