Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all super well and if you're not, you will be soon! I share my participation this week for the @Splinterlands art contest. A long time ago I participated with this character, but at that time I didn't draw in color, I only used graphite pencil for my drawings, so I do it again in color. The character is Twisted Jester, which is a card that I always liked and making it in my style made me love it more.
Hola gente bonita! Espero estén super bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Comparto mi participacion de esta semana para el concurso de arte de @Splinterlands. Hace mucho tiempo atrás participe con esté personaje, pero para ese entonces no dibujaba a color, solo usaba lápiz gratifico para mis dibujos, así que lo vuelvo a hacer a color. El personaje es Twisted Jester, la cual es una carta que siempre me ha gustado y hacerla a mi estilo me hizo amarla más.
I started making the sketch taking into account certain elements of the original character to make them in my style. These elements are mainly the character's clothing, such as the jester's hat and the costume in general. As in the character you can see some very macabre hands, as if a dark entity was hidden inside the costume, I wanted to integrate those hands to my drawing, so that they would match with the whole drawing and not only be the portrait of the character.
Comencé haciendo el boceto tomando en cuenta ciertos elementos del personaje original para hacerlos a mi estilo. Dichos elementos son mas que todo la vestimenta del personaje, como el gorro de bufón y el traje en general. Como en el personaje se ven unas manos muy macabras, como si dentro de todo ese traje estuviera escondido una entidad oscura, quise integrar esas manos a mi dibujo, para que hicieran juego con todo el dibujo y no solo fuera el retrato del personaje solamente.

Once I finished the sketch, I went to work the color throughout the drawing. In the color palette of the original drawing I found colors like red, green, purple, purple, black and white, so it was a very easy palette to recreate and use in my drawing. As you all know, the materials I use to paint my drawings are watercolors and fabric or textile paints, as I love the finish these paints leave on paper. I always start with a very light layer of paint and little by little I get darker and darker with each layer I apply.
Una vez que termine de hacer el boceto, me fui a trabajar el color en todo el dibujo. En la paleta de color del dibujo original me encontré con colores como el rojo, verde, morado, negro y blanco, así que fue una paleta muy fácil de recrear y usar en mi dibujo. Como todos saben, los materiales que uso para pintar mis dibujos son acuarelas y pinturas para tela o textiles, ya que me encanta el acabo que dejan estas pinturas en el papel. Comienzo siempre con una capa de pintura muy clara y poco a poco voy oscureciendo mas con cada capa que vaya colocando.

I also used India ink to work the areas that had to be black and complemented with black fabric paint, to give more depth or better contrast to the drawing. Besides that, I took advantage of working with these two materials to do the line art work and advance the drawing even more. Little by little I was advancing the whole drawing and it was time to work with the wood colors, to activate the saturation in the color of the watercolors in certain areas of the drawing.
Hice uso también de tinta china para trabajar las zonas que tenían que ir de negro y complementando con pintura de tela negra, para darle más profundidad o mejor contraste al dibujo. Ademas de eso, aproveche de estar trabajando con estos dos materiales para hacer el trabajo de line art y avanzar aun mas el dibujo. Poco a poco fui avanzando todo el dibujo y llego el momento de trabajar con los colores de madera, para activar la saturación en el color de las acuarelas en ciertas zonas del dibujo.

Finally I made the final details, which were mostly white details and that's it folks, that would be all with this drawing.
Por ultimo hice los detalles finales, que en su gran mayoría fueron detalles en blanco y listo amigos, eso seria todo con este dibujo.
