Has spamming discord servers and dropping unwanted links got you down?
Have you cast your #blockchain #rareart #NFT hashtags far into the #ether, only to be underwhelmed by the result?
.:.
In this episode of #bootstrapper we're going to be coming up with a handful of unique approaches for the upcoming Alien Honey Gallery Show in Cryptovoxels.
.:.
First, for some basics, in a 'for instance' lense:
- Who is the target audience for your project?
The question about target audience can help us eliminate certain locations and approaches right off the bat. For instance, if r/artbusiness is a subreddit for artists learning how to ART BIZ, what good is it going to do to post a flyer that says:
"1 $ETH 4 DINO #WEARABLES W/ DILDO HORNS!!! 0xF1B3A985E3aC73dc81f8fcD419c4dda247d2292c"
All of the relevant information is there, and if they wanted a custom Triceratops Dildo Hat, they could just send the ETH, and the two of you could be well on your way.
Unfortunately, there is no indication that r/artbusiness is good place for that message, or that the market is interested in your Triceratops Dildo Hat.
A better place for that message might be r/yiff [NSFW Furry Subreddit] or r/gfur [NSFW Gay Furry Subreddit] -- but if you really wanted to drill down -- r/scalieporn [NSFW Furry Subbreddit for Reptile fursona types] would be hard to beat.
You may not get a ton of people, but the people who see your work are more inclined to be exactly the sort of people you seek to serve with this outreach attempt.
.:.
The next question is about your message style:
"1 $ETH 4 DINO #WEARABLES W/ DILDO HORNS!!! 0xF1B3A985E3aC73dc81f8fcD419c4dda247d2292c"
This looks like it was written by an intersection of r/scaley, r/adderall & r/ETHnoob. Instead, try thinking about how your audience would like to receive your offer.
After a brief look over r/scalieporn, I found this reasonably SFW painting by a french artist named Spinal22.
Spinal22's FA
As a note: I'm seeing a lot of dragon OCs more than triceratops. I'm also seeing a lot of visual / artwork focus, no text posts whatsoever.
So, if @spinal22 was getting into 3d design, and wanted to make Custom Dragon head #wearables for Cryptovoxels -- they could do a standard model of the product like these hat adverts by Ness Nissla:
Or Spinal22 could make a pinup, or brief comic featuring some kinky dragon with a dildo horn action. -- Maybe even a mashup -- like a riff off of this Vogue cover, with a VOXEL'd out Dragon #wearable w/ Dildo Horns instead of her face:
BE DRAGON.
Or -- what would probably be even better is if @nessnissla did the Voxel work, and @spinal22 helped do the promotional outreach, and they opened up a pop-up gallery in cryptovoxels together for a weekend, and moved a set of five dragon dildo #wearable hats, and reinvested the profits to open up their own shop.
Just something to think about.
Maybe @elgeko can join the two of you and you can do a whole product line.
[Quick shoutout to @nessnissla & @spinal22 -- Get yourself a HIVE account, and share your work with us here. I'm sure our art communities could learn from what you're up to, and people would probably appreciate blogs about your latest work.]
.:.
- What customers / audience members are already Warm, and how can we show that we appreciate them?
Rare Art has collectors, and auctions, and bids, and one person wins, and the others do not.
What if you had a list of all of your previous collectors, and their permission to notify them when you're releasing your next big project?
What if you offered a small limited edition gift to everyone that made a bid, so people won regardless, and it encouraged people to bid, even if it was just a small one?
.:.
In all of these situations, we are creating value, and connecting it to people that want to receive / utilize that value.
.:.
Recap:
- Who is it for?
- Where do they hang out?
- How might they best receive that information / value proposition?
- Is it Personal / Anticipated or Relevant?
- Are there multiple outreach efforts that are focused for each type within a set?
[Think one advert type for each dragon head variety.] - What are the ancillary benefits of your outreach efforts?
[Like meeting @nessnissla or @spinal22] - Any High Value roundabout ways of sharing your gallery showing / latest release?
[Like this newsletter] - Finally is there a beginning and an end, with distinct price tension, so that people understand, this is an event and an opportunity?
[This would be the popup nature of the gallery events. Another example would be the Kickstarter Campaign or Timed Auction Experience.]

Let's make an outreach plan for my two collaborative pieces in the show:
To start off we've got a google spreadsheet I'm using as an organizational tool to help me make a checklist, if that sort of thing works for you.
We're also just going to use a blank canvas:
So, you see, I've basically taken all of the elements mentioned above, and done my best to apply them / make things work out for my promotional strategy for this show at http://alienhoney.art.
The best thing about this is that earlier my thoughts were a bit disorganized, and I was busy thinking about triceratops with dildo horns, but now -- I've got a clear, focused, best of my ability at the moment, plan of execution for outreach.
Of course, I won't know how effective this all is until after the 31st, when I close bids on those NFTs.
But before writing this blog, and going through that little exercise, I didn't even know the timeline, or what I was offering to the audience members, or anything.
Now, it's all clear to me, and available in a neat little spreadsheet, and a cool flyer that I know exactly where I'm going to share next [cent.]
My spreadsheet has the tweets and posts all planned out for this one, including the hashtags. Cool huh.
.:.
Next #bootstrapper will be a No 3.1 Followup.
Hopefully some of my process was useful for you.
Nice to meet you @spinal22 and @nessnissla -- hopefully I see you around HIVE.
