Greetings dear friends I hope you are very well, today I want to share with you my illustration for the splinterlands weekly art contest.
I must mention something very curious about this drawing and is that at first I discarded the idea and I started to work on the one I presented for the 288 nectar queen, this drawing remained as a sketch or a simple idea, because it did not convince me, this week looking at the sketch I decided to change several things and the result encouraged me to continue it, I tell you this, because these are things that often happen to me, and I think they are part of the creative process of each finished idea there are behind many discarded frustrations and in some cases creative blockage.
Well, the character Karst Harpy is very beautiful, but also scary, I will try to give her a more human touch tender and keep the sexy side of it, it is a palette of warm tones, but I think I will not have problems with the skin.
I figured it was going to take me a long time to finish it, but nothing that several cups of coffee and dedication can't fix.

Saludos apreciados amigos espero estén muy bien, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi ilustración para el concurso de arte semanal de splinterlands.
Debo mencionar algo muy curioso sobre este dibujo y es que en un principio descarte la idea y me puse a trabajar en la que presente para el 288 nectar queen, este dibujo quedo como un boceto o una simple idea, pues no me terminaba de convencer, esta semana mirando el boceto decidí cambiarle varias cosas y el resultado me animo a continuarlo, les cuento esto, pues son cosas que muchas veces me pasan, y creo que son parte del proceso creativo de cada idea terminada hay detrás muchas descartadas frustraciones y en algunos casos bloqueo creativo.
Bien, el personaje Karst Harpy es muy hermosa, pero también aterradora, trataré de darle un toque más humano tierno y mantendremos el lado sexy del mismo, es una paleta de tonos cálidos, pero creo que no tendré problemas con la piel.
Supuse que me iba a quitar mucho tiempo terminarla, pero nada que varias tasas de café y dedicación no puedan solucionar.

Process/Proceso
A week ago, I made the basic shape of the character and later the sketch in red color.
As I already mentioned this idea I discarded it at first.
Returning to make the lineart you can see several changes, especially in the face, breasts and other parts of the body.
With the lineart ready and corrected we have a good base to work on.
Hace una semana, Hice la forma básica del personaje y posteriormente el boceto en color rojo.
Como ya mencione, esta idea la descarte en un principio.
Retomando para hacer el lineart se pueden ver varios cambios, sobre todo en el rostro senos y otras partes del cuerpo.
Con el lineart listo y corregido ya tenemos una buena base en la cual trabajar.
We apply the base color, we will use a palette not so saturated.
I also wanted to apply a basic background at this point, that light in the center will make the character stand out very well.
Aplicamos el color base, usaremos una paleta no tan saturada.
También quise aplicar un fondo básico en este punto, esa luz en el centro hará resaltar muy bien al personaje.
once all the base color is ready, it is time to give details for this we will start from the background.
this is a simple background but with a couple of details, one of them the crystals, the idea comes from the reference card where the character is on one.
in my illustration I used long crystals similar to quartz crystals.
There were 3 layers of crystals which have different degree of blurring, with this we give a different touch of depth for each one.
una vez listo todo el color base, es momento de dar detalles para ello iniciaremos desde el fondo.
este es un fondo simple pero con un par de detalles, uno de ellos los cristales, la idea viene de la carta de referencia donde el personaje esta sobre uno.
en mi ilustración usé cristales largos parecido a los cristales de cuarzo.
Fueron 3 capas de cristales las cuales tiene diferente grado de difuminado, con esto damos un toque de profundidad diferente para cada uno.
We continue with the wings, for this I used several warm tones, we will give more details in the future but I wanted to leave the base of how they would look.
Seguimos con las alas, para esto use varios tonos cálidos, daremos mas detalles a futuro pero quería dejar la base de como se verían.
The skin in the human areas was the part that took me the most time, I used a red tone to make a very subtle shadow and at the moment of applying the lights I also applied stronger shadows.
I wanted to give details to the trunk to make it look as sexy as possible.
La piel en las zonas que es humana fue la parte que mas tiempo me llevo, use un tono algo rojo para hacer una sombra muy sutil y al momento de aplicar las luces aplique también sombras más fuertes.
Quise darle detalles al tronco para que se vea lo mas sexy posible.
As you could notice we changed the color of the feathers on the hands, chest and shoulders while giving details.
In the reference the character is shown with completely blue eyes, but I wanted to give him a little more humanity keeping all the blue color.
I think that with the eyes like this you can connect better with the character.
Como pudieron notar cambiamos el color de las plumas de las manos, pecho y hombros al mismo tiempo que le damos detalles.
En la referencia se muestra el personaje con los ojos completamente azules, pero yo quise darle un poco más de humanidad manteniendo todo el color azul.
creo que con los ojos asi se puede conectar mejor con el personaje.
Now to finish we correct the colors, apply more shadows on the wings and other parts as well as add thicker lines in some areas.
And that's it!
Ahora para finalizar corregimos los colores, aplicamos mas sombras en las alas y otras partes, como también agregamos líneas mas gruesas en algunas zonas.
