Happy New Year

Greetings friends! I hope you are very well.
We reached the last post for this year, and I wanted to say goodbye to the year with one of my favorite Splinterlands River characters Nymph celebrating the new year.
I wanted to make an Elegant dress inspired by her normal clothes, I was also thinking whether or not to add the little crown she has in her hair.
Regarding the rest of the drawing I found some very cool fireworks brushes and also the one of the vengala she is holding in her hand “ in my country we call them Estrellitas”.
I had some time without using these blue skin tones so I felt a little out of place when applying the palette but I think the result was good.
In the end the work has mostly cold tones only contrasted by the warm ones of the fireworks.

Process/Proceso
We created the basic form of the character, I am still experimenting with new ways to make the sketches, my intention is to achieve faster and better results.
Then we create the sketch in red color, at this point I correct some things and put the Vengala “ yes, this vengala I made it with a special brush”.
Finally we create the lineart in black color, the vengala is not included as well as some elements of the background because it would be much more work.
Creamos la forma basica del personaje, sigo experiementando nuevas formas de hacer los bocetos, mi intencion es lograr resultados mas rapidos y mejores.
seguido creamos el boceto en color rojo, en este punto corrijo ciertas cosas y pongo la Vengala " si, esta vengala la hice con un pincel especial"
Para finalizar creamos el lineart en color negro, la vengala no esta incluida al igual que algunos elementos del fondo pues seria mucho mas trabajo.
We add the base color and make a simple background with a night sky.
Now we apply the vengala in a new layer and adjust its size and position.
Agregamos el color base y hacemos un fondo simple con un cielo nocturno.
ahora si aplicamos la vengala en una nueva capa y ajustamos su tamaño y pocision.
The brush takes your two selected colors but you can modify a little bit more if you lock the colors of the layer and draw on it.
I also added a soft light in the center of the landscape, and a reflection on the snow.
Before continuing with the character I added the spark of the vengala, and I modified its color, it came in an orange tone which didn't suit me at all.
For the skin I played with blue tones taking into account where the light source comes from.
When I finished applying the color on the clothes I wanted to give it a purple detail like the original dress, for this I used the multiply effect in a new layer and applied several tones until I found the right one.
Es momento de dar detalles para ello vamos desde el fondo, aplicamos los fuegos artificiales y editamos sus colores. el pincel toma tus dos colores seleccionados pero puedes modificar un poco mas si bloqueas los colores de la capa y dibujas sobre ella.
Tambien agregue una suave luz en el centro del paisaje, y un reflejo sobre la nieve.
Antes de continuar con el personaje puce la chispa de la vengala, y modifique su color este venia en un tono naranja el cual no me convencia del todo.
Para la piel fui jugando con tonos azules teniendo en cuenta desde donde viene la fuente de luz.
al terminar de aplicar el color en la ropa quise darle un detalle en morado como el vestido original, para esto use el efecto multiplicar en una capa nueva y aplique varios tonos hasta dar con el adecuado.
We continue with the hair, this time I didn't want to go too much into the hair and its details, I feel that it would look too heavy and I want the attention to be on the vengala.
Once ready the details of the hair I applied more shadow using a new layer and the multiply effect, with this I highlight even more the light source and how it interacts with the hair of the character.
Seguimos con el cabello , en esta oportunidad no quise profundizar mucho en el cabello y sus detalles siento que se veria muy cargado aparte de que quiero que la atencion se la lleve el tema de la vengala.
una vez listo los detalles del cabello aplique mas sombra usando una capa nueva y el efecto multiplicar, con esto resalto aun mas la fuente de luz y como interactua con el cabello del personaje.
We finished by correcting the colors and adding even more details in the landscape. I had thought of adding a happy new year in the form of water magic but I feel it would detract from the fireworks, so the idea was discarded.
Finalizamos corrigiendo los colores y agregando aun mas detalles en el paisaje. tenia pensado agregar un feliz año en forma de magia con agua pero siento que restaria espacio a los fuegos artificiales, por lo cual la idea fue descartada.
