The inspiration behind this fan art is Shadowy Presence. Looking at the original card art, we can see two ghostly figures with terrifying expressions—like fierce nightmares. Naturally, that had to be conveyed in my final piece, so I went with a dark realism style reminiscent of an old photograph taken with an analog camera. What really caught my attention was the card’s description on the Splinterlands Wiki, and I even ended up incorporating it into the composition. It says something like: Sometimes you just know something dark is right there with you, even if you can't see it. It can be summoned by dark summoners—don’t let it cling to you.
La inspiración detrás de este fan art es Shadowy Presence, mirando el arte de la carta original podemos encontrar dos figuras fantasmales con expresiones terroríficas, como pesadillas feroces. Por supuesto que eso tenía que transmitirse en mi resultado final, por lo que me decanté por un estilo de realismo oscuro, que recordara una vieja fotografía capturada con una cámara analógica. Me llamó mucho la atención la descripción de la carta en la Wiki de Splinterlands y al final terminé incluso agregándola a la composición, dice algo como: A veces simplemente sabes que algo oscuro está justo ahí contigo, aunque no puedas verlo. Creative Process

Almost the entire drawing was done in dark tones, except for the initial sketch outlining the shapes of the specters. I used many textured brushes to layer grass, fog, and trees, but without a doubt, creating the sky and the terrifying face of the shadows was my favorite part. I'm sharing some images of the process with you.
Prácticamente todo el dibujo lo hice en tonos oscuros, a excepción del primer boceto de las formas de los espectros. Utilicé muchos pinceles texturizados para agregar pasto, niebla y árboles por capas, pero sin dudas hacer el cielo y el rostro terrorífico de las sombras fue mi parte favorita. Les comparto algunas imágenes del proceso.

As always, I’ll also share the entire process as an animation to better appreciate each step—it’s one of my favorite parts, especially the jump from faceless forms to terrifying creatures.
Como siempre compartiré también todo el proceso en formato de animación para apreciar mejor el paso a paso. Me gusta mucho, sobre todo el salto de no tener rostro a verse como aterradoras criaturas.
To stylize it even more, I added text from the Wiki description and some extra details into the composition. I really loved the final result, and I think this is easily one of my favorite Splinterlands fan arts ever. I hope you all liked it too, friends!
