Splinterlands Fan Art - Twisted Jester
Lore from Splinterlands:
He is not here for your amusement. The Twisted Jester is the Captain of the personal bodyguard for the Lord of Darkness himself. While most Dark Eternals completely forget everything from their living past, the memory of his family's slaughter continues to curse and plague him with rage every day.
Hello everyone! I’m so happy to welcome you back to my Splinterlands fan art post. I hope you’re having an amazing day so far! For this post, I decided to make a special fan art of a Rare Death Unit from the Alpha / Beta Card Set. This character has always caught my attention because of its creepy yet playful look, and those nasty red eyes make it even more interesting.
Out of all the Alpha / Beta cards, this one really stood out to me. It has such a unique mix of being cute but also a little scary, which made it really fun to draw. I had a great time working on all the small details to bring it to life, and I hope you enjoy looking at it just as much as I enjoyed making it.
Here is the original image from Splinterlands, which I used as a main reference and inspiration while creating my fan art.

The concept of this fan art is to show a softer and cuter version of the Twisted Jester by using light, pastel colors that give it a friendly yet magical feel. In this artwork, the Twisted Jester is shown sitting in a calm, meditative pose, as if it’s focusing its power. Even though the pose looks peaceful, the character is still giving off a strong, mysterious, and cute aura at the same time. I wanted to mix the creepy charm of the original design with a playful and relaxing vibe.
To make this piece, I used a few tools and apps that help me work comfortably and add all the details I wanted. The main tools I used were my Android Tablet, which makes it easy to draw anywhere, and Sketchbook for Mobile, which gave me the brushes and colors I needed to bring this cute but dangerous character to life.
Step-by-step creation process:
Main Object:
- Line art of the main object, which is Twisted Jester.
- Base color in reference to the original image. I used pastel colors here.
- Applied shadows using multiply layer. I also duplicated the layer and made the other one slightly blurred.
- Slighlty blurr the edges of the shadow to show smooth transition.
- Added soft glow using lighter color in another layer.
Background:
- Apply a combination of purple, pink, green and blue using smoke brush
- Slightly applied soft glow at the bottom of the back ground.
Below are the frame-by-frame images that show the full process of creating this fan art, following the steps I explained above. Each frame captures a different stage, from the first line all the way to the final polished artwork, so you can clearly see how the Cute Twisted Jester's fan art is created.
The part I enjoyed most while making this fan art was bringing the Twisted Jester to life—cute but a little scary. I had fun drawing the skull face, glowing red eyes, and big jingle-belled hat. I also liked adding the flame-like and dark colors to give it a magical and spooky feel.
Overall, making this piece was fun and relaxing. It reminded me why I love drawing, especially when it’s a character I really enjoy. Thanks for checking it out, and I hope it made you smile… and maybe feel a little chill.
