Somebody asked me to make wooden display items for agates. They wanted the displays to have lights in them so the stones would light up. I had actually thought about doing this very thing before, and the person supplied me with tealights, so I was excited to try it.
My initial idea was a little creature with arms that could hold the stone. The idea in my head would be cool, but I didn't know how to implement it. Someday, I am going to invent a drill that goes around corners.
As I started carving, the I slowly got a mushroom creature. I actually drilled the holes in the wood for the tealight before I carved anything, then I just went from there.

I am still in the process of painting it, and I might sculpt the bottom a bit more.
I put the stone in, and the others showed up to investigate.

I am going to make a few more of these, because I have quite a few stones that I've always wanted to light up.
It should be fun.
