Crayons might seem simple, but they're surprisingly versatile for creating texture and depth, especially for a theme as intense as this one. Layering colors with crayons brings out a unique vibrancy, and blending them by adjusting pressure allows for some unexpected effects. I played around with shading techniques to capture the heat and intensity of the scene, especially around the Serpent, trying to make the fiery glow feel alive.
Deep within a maze of scorching stone tunnels, under the seething caldera of Molten Mountain, the Serpent of the Flame waits contentedly. He rarely rises to the surface of the Burning Lands, but nothing excites him more than the call to battle. Those who dare to confront the Serpent always end up burned.
