Ellos se preparan para declarar hoy, después de medianoche, de manera apoteósica, el nacimiento de un mundo mejorado, libre de los males que aquejan a la humanidad, libres de enfermedades, después de haber soltado ese virus mortal para reducir la especie humana a un número manejable para ellos, un número que fuera acorde con el número de piezas nanotecnológicas creadas, desechando a quienes no los secundaran.

Una señal de que algo no andaba bien con nosotros los humanos renuentes era la falta de voluntad para dormir, temíamos ser capturados durante el sueño, algunos no lo hacían o se despertaban demasiado pronto y aún faltaban tres horas para la medianoche, por eso elegimos hacer guardias a pesar del desgaste, pues nos proponemos espiar a los “mejorados” para buscar la forma de mezclarnos con ellos sin ser detectados.

En un instante, el grupo otrora fuertemente empático y en comunión de objetivos, se dividió en dos: los que tosían y los que no.
