Hi everyone!
Greetings to you all and happy new week, please permit me to say that lol, it's just Tuesday. I didn't want to spend time blabbing about why I chose this card or fanart to be my second 3D model for Splinterlands contest but atleast I can share with you guys what inspired it.
So lately I've been stressing my eyes just a little too much and because of this, I constantly have severe headaches and it's mostly because of my bad habit of too much screen hour and worst of all, working on a small screen adds to my headache and migraine.
You know a larger screen equates a bigger and more comfortable workspace, but I just don't have that at the moment so I make do with what I have which eventually led to my constant eye aches, headaches and migraines. I used up all the setting on my mobile just to help reduce the intensity of white light entering my eyes because I don't even use protective spec or glasses.
So to cut my babbling (which I didn't intend to do lol) short, this eye defect inspired my 3D art today, cornea of the eyes which happens to be one of the Splinterlands card or fanart called Cornealus. I didn't know just how I was going to start my model for today but I started anyways and because it has to do with the eyes which is my major recent challenge lol.
I mostly use the sphere shape to start my sculpting, with that it's easier for me to transform it into the size or pattern I needed it and for this fanart modelling the best pick was the shere indeed shape indeed I mean the eye is already round-shaped
After getting the basic shapes in their right style and sizes, I started transforming them in the pattern and sizes I wanted them. I went further to sculpt the cornea's flagella (pardon me to use that term), I did this for all the sections that needed the flagella, I started from the biggest to the smallest ones before I then began my base colouring and painting. After choosing the complimentary colours from the original card, to paint my model, I went further to create the highlights and shadows on the flagella and a little on the eyeballs itself
Work Process
This is the final step of my entire work which here you can see the highlights and shadows on my model.
It was a bit tactical to get those textures on the second circle. There were no available readymade textures in the software I used for this creation so I had to manipulate those small visible patterns and texture myself using a combination of different brushes and tools, as well as placing or positioning it in the right angle.
After doing all of that, I went ahead to choose a fitting background with the right colour patterns for my finished work
I must say I didn't quite think of or initially imagined what the result of this 3D cornealus would look like, but I gave it my best shot all the same cause I love it when I am satisfied with my work
And that's it for my 3D cornealus fanart for the Splinterlands Art Contest Week 358. I hope you like my entry and ofcourse the overall process of my work and also hoping the result is quite satisfying, thank you for your feedback, positive criticism and for just passing by, stopping by and supporting my work.
