I recently read a post about making money on Hive noting that one of the most important elements was missing; One of the most important elements 'in my opinion,' is what I mean. We all have different ideas after all. I commented on that post and the author agreed with me letting me know there'll be an edit made. The user went on to engage with me a little more about other things and it all went well.
So here's the thing...Engagement.
Below is what I initially commented in that post and I quoted one of the original author's lines and responded to it also.

The thing is, in my experience here on the blockchain, engagement with other people on their posts and with interest and relevance after reading the post, is the best way to build a profile, relationships and subsequently, one's account. The reason is that relationships, if built on solid foundations and well-nurtured, will result in votes. I know this from experience, as do thousands of others.
Furthermore, commenting on other people's posts (I mean valid and relevant commenting) is another opportunity to earn...Take a look at my posts for instance, the comments feeds in particular...I vote top-level comments and some secondary ones as well. Go on, take a look. I do this as an encouragement to those who comment well hoping they'll continue to do so with me and others knowing it will help them build their brand. Also, did you know you earn curation rewards on comments also? Well yep, you do.
I'm not saying that simply by commenting on others, engaging with them, your account will rocket off into the crypto stratosphere and you'll be an overnight gazillionaire...but you'll be on your way, especially if you add in some great posts on your own post feed as that gives people something to engage directly with you upon, and to vote of course.
There's no real formula to winning on Hive and, in truth, it's not about winning at all, it's about fun, or so it should be. There's some things users can do to accelerate their progression though, easily deployed things and I mention one above. It should be part of everybody's Hive toolbox and done with alacrity and consistently...in my humble opinion.
So here's the other thing...Your opinion
I'd like know know what you think about the importance of engagement and relationships and its correlation to building a profile and account here on the blockchain.
I know many rely on whale votes and votes from curation concepts, however they can cease as quickly as they began making genuine relationships incredibly important; those that don't build them are at a disadvantage. What do you think though? How have you worked to build relationships, what worked and what didn't and what advice would you give to someone in their first month on Hive in respect of building their account in a sustainable manner? Feel free to drop some comments below and, of course, I always get engaged with those who engage with me.
Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default; tomorrow isn't promised so be humble and kind - galenkp
