I have just finished listening to the 6th novel by Serhiy Lukyanenko from the series of books "Watchs" - "Sixth Watch". The book turned out to be quite interesting, I would even say with the most unexpected ending, which kept the tension to the last pages. Personally for me, the ending was not only unexpected, so it intrigued me so much that I look forward to when the 7th book will be published. There is no official information on the 7th book, but there is an inner premonition that the author did not beat the limb at the last moment in vain. I think the Sixth Guard is at least on a par with my previous favorite book in this series, The Day Watch. . Still, in my opinion, the second novel out of 6 is the most interesting.
Now about the negative. Even though I`m not an ardent patriot, and skeptical of any political issues, I was simply struck by pro-nationalist propaganda. There was the most of it in this book, I would even say too much. I think that's the only reason I can't rate this book more than 8 on a 10th scale. Of course, this is my opinion and I do not claim the role of an expert in this matter.
It is a pity that such wonderful messages, in addition to interesting content, also carry strong propaganda and a lot of hidden advertising. Maybe that's why it's much more interesting for me to read the literature of the post-war and pre-war years, when politics was simply ignored…
What do I remember about Serhiy Lukyanenko's book The Sixth Guard:
- Obviously, I would even say unacceptable propaganda. Now I understand why these books do not have a Ukrainian page on Wikipedia. Finally I gained patience and re-read the author's wiki page and was very unpleasantly surprised by how aggressive the author's attitude is towards everything that contradicts the regime of the country to which he ascribes himself…
- Covert advertising of smoking and alcohol consumption.
- An interesting theory of the origin of "others" who are the main characters of the novels.
- Very interesting ending of the book after the mediocre main part and beginning.

Щойно закінчив прослуховувати 6-й роман Сергія Лук’яненка із серії книг «Варти» - «Шоста варта». Книга виявилась досить цікавою, я б навіть сказав із самою несподіваною кінцівкою, яка тримала в напрузі до останніх сторінок. Особисто для мене, закінчення було мало того, що несподіваним, так воно так заінтригувало мене, що я з нетерпінням очікую, коли ж уже там вийде 7-а книга. Офіційної інформації по 7-й книзі не має, але є внутрішнє передчуття, що автор не даремно в останній момент переграв кінцівку. Думаю, «Шоста варта» як мінімум на одному рівні із попередньою моєю улюбленої книгою із цієї серії «Денна варта», Хоча, в «Шостій варті» дуже цікавою виявилась тільки кінцівка книги, а в «Денній варті» інтрига зберігається на протязі усіє книги. Все ж таки, на мою думку другий роман із 6-и найцікавіший.
Тепер про негатив. Навіть не будучи ярим патріотом, та скептично відносячись до будь-яких політичних питань, мені просто різала слух пронаціоналістична пропаганда. В цій книзі її було найбільше, я б навіть сказав – занадто багато. Думаю це єдина причина, по якій я не можу поставити цій книзі оцінку більше 8 за 10-ю шкалою. Звісно, це моя думка і я ні в якому разі не претендую на роль експерта в цьому питанні.
Шкода, що такі прекрасні повідомлення крім цікавого змісту паралельно несуть виражену пропаганду та безліч скритої реклами. Можливо саме через це мені куди цікавіше читати літературу післявоєнних і довоєнних років, коли політику просто ігнорували…
Чим мені запам’яталась книга «Шоста варта» Сергія Лук’яненка:
- Явною, я б навіть сказав недопустимою пропагандою. Тепер я розумію, чому у цих книг немає української сторінки на вікіпедії. Нарешті набрався терпіння і перечитав вікі сторінку автора і дуже неприємно вразився тим, наскільки агресиним є налаштування автора по відношенню до всього, що суперечить режиму країни до якої він себе приписує…
- Прихованою рекламою тютюнопаління та вживання алкоголю.
- Цікавою теорією походження «інших» що є головними героями романів.
- Дуже цікавим завершенням книги після посередньої основної частини і початку.
