Freewrite Dailyprompt 9 March "lost courage"
As Aryan stood by the diving board he looked below at the swimming pool filled with deep blue waters. His training took months but he now felt panic as audience members watched his attempt. The shaking in his legs and rapid beating of his heart scared him.
"You can do it!" his coach called out.
But Aryan had lost courage. The dive's distance appeared taller and sent fear through his thoughts. What if he failed? What if he disappointed everyone?
He inhaled deeply through his nose to overcome his dread. Next he spotted his younger brother boosting him on from the stands. Determination came back to life in his heart.
In his final breath he soared through the air with smooth motion. Everyone started applauding when he surfaced. Aryan felt happy because his bravery returned to him.
