Which one do you think truly represents the main proposal of Bitcoin published on 31 October 2008? The main points of the proposal are:
- Peer-to-peer, direct transactions between individuals.
- No intermediaries, such as banks or institutions.
- A secure, decentralised and uncensored system.
The three main points mentioned above are still upheld and followed by both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, which have since split from the original Bitcoin community. The difference arises from new issues regarding transaction speed and costs, ultimately leading to a split into two camps.
Each side proposed solutions, but ultimately no agreement was reached, with each side still believing that the path they chose was truly in line with the Bitcoin proposal.
Ideology and technical issues, where one side remained committed to on-chain ideology and the other to off-chain.
Politics and controversy have spread further, but to this day, Bitcoin with its off-chain approach remains the global dominant force, while Bitcoin Cash with its on-chain approach has become part of the altcoin category within the broader crypto community. However, the recognition of the "real Bitcoin" remains unavoidable for the Bitcoin Cash community, as it represents a weakness in the elite power structure within the Bitcoin system as it stands today.
The general community is indeed still given the choice to define it, which one you take as the original legacy of Bitcoin as the mother of cryptocurrency. And it is not a difficult choice because all eyes see, all minds think, and all events leave historical records of the journey between the two. And on the other hand, the advantage of this division is also one advantage and lesson, about ego, desire, and greed.
If I were asked as a user myself, what would I choose? Which side would I take, and the term "define it" seems to force a decision. And as an answer, there is no choice, because both are in a state of uncertainty that only confuses. Regardless of the language of freedom, I would say I would accept both because each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
