"I am back for revenge", Khalid said standing on the field adjacent to Max's building.
Max was Khalid's boss who was unjust to him. Khalid had been an apprentice for 6 years now, the agreement was for Max to give Khalid a certain amount of money to start up his business after serving him for 3 years.
Khalid has been faithful to his master, he never duped him for once, they were into importing and exporting.
When it was the 3 years of service, Khalid reminded his boss of the agreement, " I am aware of the agreement Khalid, however, if you serve me for more 3 years, I'll double your pay". Max told him, Khalid needed enough money to start up his own business so he was determined to be patient for another 3 years and to be of good behavior.
Max used the opportunity to accumulate more wealth and started to process his papers to travel overseas without fulfilling his promise.
He had plans of disappearing without Khalid's knowledge, he was greedy and had fears of seeing Khalid live a life of luxury like him, he wanted to remain Khalid's master for a lifetime.
As they say, walls have ears, Max discussed his plans with his brother at home forgetting that his maid Stella was eavesdropping.
She felt bad about the whole thing and then she quickly sent a message to Khalid informing him of Max's plans.
Before Khalid could reach out to him, Max was out of the country.
Khalid suffered in vain, after 6years of service there was nothing to show for it.
He started his job hunting to make ends meet, he promised to pay Max a revenge visit even if not now, someday in the future.
Khalid started hawking on the street of Campbell to survive when he could not find a job, it's either they tell him he is above the age requirement or they raise his hopes only to shatter them in the end.
Max on the other hand was leaving the life of his dreams, forgetting karma is a bitch, he felt Khalid will never find him.
3 years later
Max was about to visit a mall one mild afternoon, and as soon as he stepped out his door, he saw a man who looked so much like Khalid adjacent to his building, he was on a black sweatshirt and a black pair of jeans, looking so fierce.
His heart was literally in his mouth, and he became restless, "Could this be Khalid?", how did he find me? How did he get the money to visit the country I relocated to?", he started to soliloquize.
He was about to run when Khalid double-crossed him.
" I am back for revenge, I am Khalid, you greedy man, I worked with you in my prime, with all of my heart, I worked so hard that your wealth accumulated and the only way to pay me was for you to leave me in a miserable condition," Khalid placed his hand behind him to bring out the gun he had, immediately Max went down on his knee "Please don't kill me, I know I did you wrong, I was greedy and bitter, forgive me please, I will pay you everything".
"There will be no second chance Max, I've lost all the trust I had for you, you played me for a fool", Khalid said pointing the gun at him, while he was about to cock the gun.
The police were already at the scene, and they arrested Khalid for attempting murder, however, Khalid confessed the reason behind his action with concrete evidence, and Max was summoned by the police and was given an ultimatum by the court to pay Khalid everything he owed him, Max obliged, and he paid Khalid thrice what he owed and vowed never to be greedy again.
