Each one of us deserves to have something they look forward to, something that fills you with hope. Because when you think about it, if you live thinking that tomorrow is not better than both yesterday and today, maybe you wouldn't have the energy you need to achieve your dreams.
I believe investing is like an oak tree, and what I see most people do is check every day how much it has grown, but it doesn't work that way. Investing is meant to help you focus on the big picture rather than just on the present, it's something you do now to have a better and more secure tomorrow.
It amazes me how that when you play the long-term game, the odds of failing almost vanish, it's like if I say: "I want to make my first million by the end of this month" there's a great chance I wouldn't. But, if I say: "I want to hit 100M in 10 years" your much less likely to fail, especially if you take it seriously.
Money here is just an example, if you're a content creator for instance, hitting your first 100k subscribers this year might not be possible, as opposed to hitting 10M subscribers in 10 years is much more likely to happen.
It was Bill Gates who said: "Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years."
I couldn't agree more with this statement. It's again, not just about the numbers, it's about waking up every day having hope because you're working in something that you love and believe in its long-term success undoubtedly, it just keeps you on track.
