"Just close your eyes, and you will realize you can fly like an airplane". Those were the words my mind filled me in. How crazily loving the world could be that we would do anything just to be free.
Many countries have gained independence and stayed off the claws of colonial masters. Why should we blame them? No one likes to be enslaved right? How sadly it has become that they are some countries that lack the essence of independence. Some of them are utterly dependent. The facade of being independent has clouded the minds of humans that they don't think of the outcome of their actions after being free. Now, I ask;
Are you truly free from your bondage or entangled yourself in it?
Seeing an airplane makes my heartbeat jubilantly. The way it moves freely in the air makes my heart yearns to be in it and to have the feeling of freedom, but;
"Being in an airplane, can it truly make us free of every negativity life has to offer?"
At first, one might have the feeling of freedom the moment the plane moves but what comes after that? Turbulence or a free movement? No one can say. Do we say being in a plane (adulthood) is the start of one's freedom or the continuation of dependence?
While growing up, we wanted to badly leave the claws of our parents, especially in our teens. We want to be an adult so badly because we thought we knew what adulthood entails. It is funny to see that adulthood was the same as freedom in our hearts. We see both words as the same. How crazy it was that adulthood wasn't what we thought it to be. Is it?
Clouded by the need to be free, we worked harder and got tough skin to escape the captive of teenage to adulthood. Adulthood seems to be the perfect escape route for us. The ability to eat whenever we want, travel to places we love, spend as much as we want, take a long vacation to mind-blowing places, and every other positivity our mind could cook up. It is perfect. So we thought. Now, I ask;
I hope you are truly free like you thought.
Adulthood seems fun at first for some people. The ability to come home when you wish is an undiluted miracle of mankind. The thought was all in our heads until it hit us badly in the face when things we never hope for crawled toward us. Now, we all yearn to be a baby with no worries. We want that badly but we can't have it anymore. Can we?
Looking at the airplane screams freedom just like adulthood. Seeing the sky hovering around you brings a genuine smile to one's face and a heavy sigh of victory to one's lips. We feel our hearts, less burdened, and our minds in tranquility. If I may ask;
" What comes after?"
It is like moving to a new place. We love it at first and the beauty gladden our hearts, but what plans lay ahead after freedom? Can we be truly free?
Looking at the long years I found my way into adulthood, I have not been truly free. Instead, I feel burdened each day by the need to care for people close to me becomes my utmost priority. I want things done appropriately. I want all these when I can barely care for myself, especially in this recent time when the economy sees it fit to torment us for being alive.
All I want now is to be a baby. A baby with no worries, but I know that can't be achieved anymore. I boarded the plane with my destination in mind. The road may become smoother or heavy turbulence may occur. Whichever way it turns out to be, I have chosen to get my boots ready to walk out of the plane with smiles or make use of a parachute to fly high.
