Who is a writer?
Why do you write?
What do you want to write about?
How do you write?
A writer is one with an idea, strong imaginative power, and a narrator. An idea is what you want to write irrespective of how you want to write it. There is always something you are driving at and whether we like it or not, it drives impact and it imparts.
A strong imaginative power creates a story with and through which the idea is driven. The way the story is told, from the introduction, body and the conclusion tells of the extent to which it gets to influence. A story with a good introduction captures the attention, keeps in suspense and drives the reader into the body of the write-up. Psychologically, humans are discovering and exploring being. All you just need to do is to catch the attention and create a good first impression which is alluring. It is all about being immaginative.
You imagination is also an idea through and with with you intend to drive the main idea behind your writing. Now, there is an idea behind your writing and there is an idea with which you intend to drive or propagate the big idea behind why you are writing.
It is not enough to have a good idea on how to propagate the big idea. You also need to know how to tell the idea that is the imaginative story, which carries the big idea. Here, a writer has to be a good storyteller - a narrator. Writing, of course, follows certain rules based on grammar, but it is not conventional. Different styles, different writers. There is no conventional way of writing, but there may be a writing guide.
Lastly, there is the passion. This lies in why I write. Why do you write? I strongly believe that any reason that is not mundane survives the test and taste of time, because they speak to the soul. If the reason you write is because of money, then I tell you, when you have a better source of income, you will quit writing. What is your driving force? What motivates you as a writer? Do you enjoy writing?
How do you write? One great ingredient is consistency in your storyline. NEVER MAKE YOUR AUDIENCE LOST! Do not drift away. BE CONSISTENT! Secondly, be systematic and avoid ambiguity. Make what you write speak to your audience. Help them to personalise what you are writing. And lastly know and believe that you are unique and show that in what you write. THERE IS NO CONVENTION IN WRITING!
