Well, where I live VHS players don't really exist anymore, I mean you can't just walk into an electronics store and buy a VHS player.
Why? Well, the VHS player is old technology. Most people don't have a working VHS player in their homes, where 30 years ago, they were in most people's homes, well, at least here in California that is.
Why am I suddenly interested in a working VHS player? Well, I have been going to Good Will, a thrift store. And at that store I can buy a VHS movie for 25 cents.
Sometimes I like to look at movies from 30 years ago, like I just watched a movie called, The Rainmaker. It is a story about a young man going into the field of law and in the movie he does get a job in a law firm were he didn't even pass the bar yet.
I did find that movie, interesting.
So in the picture you see two VHS players, one does play and one doesn't play a video. The one on top does work to play a video and the one on the bottom won't play a video.
So why do I keep the one that doesn't play a video? Well, yes, it doesn't play the video, but I can use that machine to rewind a VHS tape. So maybe I can't use it to play a tape, but I can use it rewind. Remember that some people used to buy a device that would rewind the tape to save the working VHS player from the wear and tear of rewinding.
So one machine I use to play the ancient VHS tape and the other machine I use to rewind the ancient VHS tape and together they do work, like a team.
So anyway I was so interested in those old VHS movies that would only cost me 25 cents each, come to think of it, Good Will also sells most DVD movies for 25 cents also.
So when was the last time you can get a movie for 25 cents? So thus my interest in VHS again.
Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, with Jesus speaking, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Luke 13:24.
