Yes, I bought a 55 pound sack of powdered milk for only $25. Well do you know what that is a pound? It is less than 46 cents a pound. If you look in Amazon right now, a 5 pound bad of powdered non fat milk cost like $36. So that would be like buying powdered non fat milk at $7.20 a pound or $396 for a 55 pound sack of non fat powdered milk.
Wow. I got a good deal, plus isn't it good emergency food?
I took most of the sack of powdered milk and put them in quart plastic seal bags. I think to make some milk you would use one cup of powdered milk to 2 cups of water and in my case I use filtered water.
I tried it and it tastes good to me.
Now I am set for a Mad Max situation where so long as I have some kind of water supply I can have some milk.
I like to keep 4 barrels of water in my garage for an emergency. Each barrel is about 55 gallons. I would not drink directly out of the barrel, I would filter the water first and I may boil the water and then cool the water, then filter the water.
To filter water, I use a gravity water filter.
If there was a situation where the grid is down. I can put some of that milk powder into a glass jar and add water, then I put the lid on top and seal it, then shake it.
I can just shake it until the water and powdered milk is mixed well. Then I can drink it.
But with the grid I would put the powder in my Vitamix and add water, then get my milk.
Of course you can use the powdered milk and mix it with powdered protein drink. It can be mixed with another powdered drink.
When I used to work for the telephone company around my last few years before I would retire, because the office closed, but I would just go to my car and eat my lunch. But in stead of a sandwich which I used to eat from the vending machine, I wanted to save more money, so I would bring a bottle of water and a glass jar with a lid with protein powder inside the jar, then I just add the water and seal the lid on and shake it up and drink it and that was my lunch.
And I sure did save a lot of money that way.
So I did buy some powdered non fat milk, 55 pounds of it and it shall save me money for regularly the sack of powdered milk I bought from Curry's, would have normally sold for about $396 for that sack, but I bought it for only $25.
What a great savings.
Let's end with scripture, as it is written, with Jesus speaking, Come unto me, all that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:28-29.
