As I was looking at my checkbook balance, it was something like 7 dollars and some change. What? I usually have hundreds of dollars in that checking account.
Did someone hack into my account, did someone write me a check and it bounced? What happened?
So I go to my credit union and asked about the checking account. The guy on the other side of the window said, there was a Geico charge of $279 against my checking account. I said, Geico? I told the guy that I didn't even have Geico, my insurance is Allstate Insurance. I told him I had nothing to do with Geico.
He asked, You don't use Geico? I told him, No. Then he said, that is not good.
He went over to his manager, They have some kind of paper printed out that says, a guy by my name authorized it, but there was no check, and I didn't authorize it.
Did someone hack into my account?
It was late in the day and my credit union was going to close for the day and they ask me to call Geico to see if they have a guy by my name as a customer.
I did do that and Geico did check, but they didn't see my name in there system. They gave me an email to send them the paper that my credit union gave me. I did to that and emailed them the information. They to this day have not replied to my email.
So I go back to my credit union and tell them that I did call Geico, and they told me to email them and I said, they didn't even email be back.
So we went to work, the manager told the guy working with me, that we have to get a brand new account number and close the account that I had and to take back the $279 from Geico as that was taken under false pretences as I didn't authorize them to take that money.
So I got my money back and I got a new account number. I had to take a new picture and sign all kinds of stuff like I was a brand new customer, yet I have been with them since the early 80's I believe, it was so long ago and the name of that credit union changed since I first came to them.
So when you do have to change your account number, you also have to let the people know you have another account number, like for me, I have to let my pension know I have a different account to direct deposit to and I had to do that for my Social Security also.
I told the manager when I was in the credit union office, that I would like to see the guy, when his Geico insurance is cancelled when we took back that $279 from Geico.
So now I have a new account number and them that tried to steal from me cannot steal from me again as they don't know my new account number.
Let's end with scripture, as it is written, Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.
