What I see: Venice, and its famous gondolas and gondoliers, with almost everyone, including those on the bridge, seeming to be looking at something out of sight on the shore. The nearest man not looking has his mouth open, and I wonder if he is singing. The gondolier next to him is also looking straightforward.
What I feel: If one is singing, and not looking, and not rowing, why?
She was just that beautiful, stopping traffic in the beauty that is Venice.
But she did not speak Italian.
The singing gondolier told his friends of his broken heart, but not the tourists.
He had been clowned trying to make her his own, and so sang the song of Pagliacci.
