Just as the birds chirp, sending messages across, so do pictures hold words. This week, a picture of a graveyard was given. What do I see?, what do I think happened?, and if I was to tell a story, what would I say?. Take a moment to reflect on the thousand words this picture is Worth.
I looked around and saw a field with many graveyards. The tree leaves withered, which shows it is winter. One of the graveyards was built differently, with rods surrounding it in the form of a cage instead of a stone. The tomb is covered with leaves which probably had withered from the trees planted next to it.
I feel the countrymen bury their dead in a particular way where a stone is placed beside the tomb and the name of the deceased is crested on it. However, there could be an instance where the tomb is surrounded with iron rods, probably if it's someone who is famous and had made an impact in the society.
It was the year 2020, Mr. Thompson, a very popular man, aged 40, tall, and virile was down with fever. Everyone had assumed it was malaria and typhoid he suffered since he was too busy going from town to town to ensure the people of that state had good welfare. Two weeks later, the fever grew worse with a persistent cough, no medication seems to work and the diagnosis read negative for malaria. It was a few days later that the virus COVID-19 was announced to have been discovered.
It was later discovered that Mr. Thompson had contracted it. Everything was done to ensure he got cured of it but failed. He died a month later and was buried in the public cemetery.
"He was a famous man, and had made an impact in the society, let's bury him differently" A man suggested. Everyone agreed. A cage was made round his tomb with rods to honor him.
