Chapter VIII Confession

Salty air

The life of the city was turning out to Angeline quite different from that of the island where until then she had lived, the smell of the gases of the cars in the streets bothered her a lot. Until now, her life had been spent on her island with a clean atmosphere in which the smell of salty air is always present. Since she had been there for several days, an itchy throat began to start, runny nose and cough; reason why she decided to go to the doctor to see what she could recommend to alleviate those symptoms.

Upon entering the clinic's office, a secretary invited her to sit so that she would wait for the doctor to arrive since he would be late. So she took one of the magazines that were there, when she opened one of them, there she saw the mayor of the city accompanied by her new friend Andrew, she was surprised since up to that moment she thought that he had told her a lie pious.

Medical evaluation

When the doctor entered, he was surprised to see such a handsome girl waiting for his attention, so without further ado the secretary invited her to come in. There the doctor began to feel her neck and took her temperature, then with an etestocope evaluated her heart condition and looked at her pupils carefully, with all this after a few minutes and thinking about her health, finally he commented :

"Miss, you are in excellent health, the symptoms that you have described to me are only a slight case of allergy to the environment, soon your body will adapt to the aggressions of the city air, for the time being you should only take for five days, one anti-allergy capsule every eight hours. "

Angeline finally blushed and expressed her thanks as she thought she was very ill.

The preparation

The days passed, Mindy with some strenuous working days, she always had in mind to coordinate with Angeline the next time they would see each other again. On a daily basis they continued to maintain communication by mobile phone via whassap, she was glad that her half-sister was hired in the nursing home, since this would help her expenses for her stay in the city. Now she was a little worried since the next meeting would be held at her house, in order to check her father's belongings and objects. She had not yet had the courage to do so since sadness immediately overwhelmed her. Considering that her sister was coming to visit her, she soon went to the supermarket to stock up on some food and cleaning products. I had planned to receive her with a good meal and also have the house prepared and clean for when the time came.

As some of the walls had some stains, in the hardware store he bought a few gallons of paint and a brush to give a special touch to the house. For this her friend Richard would help her to do it since she considered that this work is more of men.

So after a few days the house was ready for her to receive her half sister Angeline, thinking about it she remembered her father, since he would have been proud to participate in the sisters' meeting, he knew that he had not said anything of the existence of her sister Angeline so that communication between them continued to flow, but she knew that deep down in his soul that had generated deep sadness.

Work in the nursing home

After leaving the medical consultation, Angeline returned to the neighborhood where she was living, as she was and at the time that she had to go to work, she proceeded to go there. One of the people in charge of the place took her to a room where she should change her clothes, put on her uniform and take a shower to disinfect herself. When leaving there already fixed he went to the living room where several old people were watching television, the atmosphere felt very familiar since being there he remembered his father a lot when he lived with her on the island. Seeing her, one of the elders began to applaud saying:

"Girls the new nurse has arrived, we have to attend to her as we already know how to do it"

Angeline, a little disturbed by the reception, replied:

"Thank you for receiving me, but do not think that I am going to spoil you, we are all adults"

The old man then said to her, "Please come closer."

From his hand, he then gave her a religious stamp to keep at home.

Angeline surprised by the gesture said:

"I have time away from the church, I believe in God but I have time without making the confession, or taking communion"

The old man then said to him:

"Child, do not wait any longer to do it, life passes quickly, you see we are here, animated, waiting for the encounter with God, we must always be prepared"

She calling his attention to his words, asked him:

"Are you a priest?"

He said to her, "You have been right for now. I can give you some suggestions of what your spiritual life can be so that you feel better."

She affirming his last words said to him:

"For me it is very important to consider it since right now I have before me a dilemma that I must solve.

By the way, I don't know your name?"

"Charles is my name.

Ah, like Prince Charles, my name is Angeline.

With that said, realizing that she had to do other things, she said goodbye to him.
