In life, while we are not developing, we are preparing ourselves professionally to face our life as fulfilled adults and with economic stability, with a successful professional career or a prosperous business that will help us to live life and not to suffer so many shortages and needs, we are always mentalized for success and we come to think that we cannot suffer situations of acute need (hunger) since we are preparing ourselves to live a life with economic stability, apparently.
Then... When things seem to be going better, general economic situations arise, or the country's economy enters into crisis, in what is an unexpected event over which you have no control and you have no power to do anything about it, is at that moment when your world is shaken and no matter what you have prepared for your future a macro situation of your country's economy suddenly puts you in a very compromised situation.
Situations like these were experienced by Venezuelans in 2015 and 2016 where we literally visited a business to find the shelf empty. I am sure that none of us who grew up in a prosperous Venezuela could ever think of living a situation like the one experienced during these years and that ended up creating the largest migratory flow in our country's history.
An empty shelf translates into backwardness, an empty shelf is synonymous with need, hunger, backwardness and much sadness. It was a period of much suffering and although we have not yet risen from this situation and we know that it will take years if there is a deep rectification of our economic policies, however, we have breathed a little in terms of the fact that when we visit stores where we compare food we no longer find an empty shelf.
Many left driven by necessity, much has been written and will be written about this situation that surprised many but that many in turn warned about it since they saw it coming, however, nothing could or would be done to avoid it and the consequence was a destroyed country with empty shelves.
Let me know what you think!
