Abro mis ojos y contemplo mi alrededor,
en el techo una luz tan brillante que no le puedo mantener la mirada,
los colores me marean si lo hago.
A mi alrededor las personas se mueven, van de un lado a otro, unos me miran a mi, creo hasta me hablan,
sus labios se mueven, pero no no logro entender.
Me sonríen también, yo también les sonrío, o al menos eso intento.
En mi cuello algo me molesta, algo que se conecta a una manguera y esta a una bolsa, de no se qué. Esto no puede estar bien. Esta no es mi casa, no es mi cama.
Me quiero levantar, pero no puedo, les grito pero parece que no me escuchan, ¿Qué le sucede a mi voz?
¿acaso estoy soñando?
Si es así quiero despertar, sáquenme de aquí. Estoy preso en mi propio cuerpo, no hay manera de salir. Mis ojos están tan muertos como yo, no denotan el terror que siento. Aquí estoy, sigo aquí, pero nadie me puede escuchar, solo soy yo en compañía de mis pensamientos.
I open my eyes and look around me,
on the ceiling a light so bright that I can't keep my eyes on it,
the colors make me dizzy if I do.
Around me people move, they go from one side to the other, some look at me, I think they even talk to me,
their lips move, but I can't understand.
They smile at me too, I smile at them too, or at least I try to.
On my neck something bothers me, something that connects to a hose and this to a bag, of I don't know what. This can't be right. This is not my house, this is not my bed.
I want to get up, but I can't, I scream at them but they don't seem to hear me, what's wrong with my voice?
Am I dreaming?
If so, I want to wake up, get me out of here. I'm imprisoned in my own body, there's no way out. My eyes are as dead as I am, they don't denote the terror I feel. Here I am, I'm still here, but no one can hear me, it's just me in the company of my thoughts.
