It took me a moment to gather my thoughts on this week's ZAPFIC Monday challenge that centers around the prompt "bolt". Whether to go with an object or pursue action. I settled on the traditional meaning of the noun to share a story of uncertainty in a time of hardship or turmoil.
The ZAPFICMonday challenge was created by @felt.buzz and consists of a story told in 240 characters or less. Quite a feat to accomplish. My story is below:
From above, Bram watched chaos unfold as victory shouts rose.
His father; now dethroned.
Mercenaries marched toward his chamber.
He begged his legs to run as a bolt shot from the door.
Falling to his knees, he prayed, hoping his uncle merciful.
