Today, I want to talk to you about my state of mind over the past few days, despite the fact that I’ve been doing an activity I hadn’t done in years—one that has recently filled my life in a very refreshing way. It’s an activity I dedicated myself to long ago for many years.
I found myself playing World of Warcraft again.
I spent 5 or 6 years of my life devoted to that video game, and I remember it as if it were yesterday: the days when, within this great game, I met other people, had conversations over the internet through the game itself and voice chat.
Back then, we used TeamSpeak because I don’t think communication programs like Discord existed yet. We handled all our conversations and in-game activities through TeamSpeak.
I remember how complicated things could get for us sometimes. When the TeamSpeak servers crashed or stopped working, we had to rush to another server or already have backup servers ready as an emergency measure so we could keep talking if one of them failed.
We had everything organized. We were a group of several friends.
I remember my friend Gabriel was there, as well as my friend Puchu from Mexico—who are now married, and have been for so many years. They’re husbands and have a child.
So many years have passed! So many things we’ve lived through!
And this ties into today’s topic: it’s not a myth.
That myth about us being eternally young is, let’s say, a reality.
Because even though our physical bodies age, and our minds grow older chronologically, that youthful spirit of reliving those times—those memories I’m revisiting with this new activity I’m dedicating myself to—takes me back to that gaming era.
Honestly, I can say it’s incredibly refreshing, and again, it’s not a myth to feel young when doing these activities.
It’s like drinking from the fountain of eternal youth when you reclaim that spirit, that spark that reignites the flame inside you and makes you feel so much better.
For the past few days, the past few weeks, I’ve been staying up until 6 in the morning—and with great pleasure.
To the point where I can thankfully say I’ve stepped away from my activities here on HIVE.
And that’s something that makes me feel really good, because being here consumes so much of my time, and I haven’t been seeing the results I’d like, as I’ve mentioned lately.
It makes me incredibly happy because it lets me see a different side of life and interact with people who aren’t constantly talking about HIVE, above or below.
I know this is what fills their lives, but for me, after spending eight years here on HIVE, it’s very important to have another kind of activity.
And above all, to know that the people in this new space have no idea about HIVE—and I really don’t want them to know. Mixing this activity I do here on HIVE with the other one that’s kept me awake for weeks with such joy would, I think, poison and tarnish this whole feeling of happiness I’ve been experiencing.
I truly feel very happy because one thing has nothing directly to do with the other.
And what matters is that I feel good—and that it’s not a myth, all of this I’m feeling.
I thought it would be very hard in life to ever feel as good as I did back in those Warcraft days. And I wanted to share this feeling and this new perspective, because it’s given me a much fresher and far better outlook than the one I had before.
Hoy vengo a hablarles sobre mi estado de ánimo en los últimos días, a pesar de que estoy haciendo una actividad que no hacía desde hace años y que últimamente ha llenado el espacio en mi vida de una manera muy refrescante. Porque es una actividad a la que me dediqué hace años durante mucho tiempo.
Me encontré jugando World of Warcraft.
Pasé 5 o 6 años de mi vida dedicado a ese videojuego, y realmente lo recuerdo como si fuera ayer: los días en los que, dentro de este gran juego, conocí a otras personas, tuve conversaciones a través de internet por el juego mismo y por chat de voz.
En esos tiempos usábamos TeamSpeak, porque creo que no existían programas de comunicación como los de ahora, tales como Discord. Hacíamos todas las conversaciones y todas las actividades del juego a través de TeamSpeak.
Recuerdo que muchas veces se nos complicaban las cosas porque, cuando los servidores de TeamSpeak caían o dejaban de funcionar, teníamos que ir corriendo a otro servidor o ya tener establecido, como mecanismo de emergencia, otros servidores en los que podíamos seguir hablando en caso de que alguno de estos fallara.
Ya lo teníamos todo organizado. Éramos un grupo de varios amigos.
Recuerdo que estaba mi amigo Gabriel y mi amiga Puchu, de México, que ahora son esposos desde hace tantos años. Son esposos y tienen un hijo.
¡Cuántos años han pasado! ¡Cuántas cosas hemos vivido!
Y esto tiene que ver con el tema de hoy, que no es un mito.
Ese mito de que somos eternamente jóvenes es, digamos, una realidad. Porque, aunque nuestro cuerpo físico envejece y nuestra mente envejece cronológicamente y somos mayores, ese espíritu juvenil de revivir esos tiempos y esas cosas que estoy recordando con esta nueva actividad a la que me estoy dedicando me remonta a esa época de videojuegos.
La verdad, puedo decir que es muy refrescante y, nuevamente, que no es un mito sentirse joven cuando se realizan estas actividades.
Porque es como si bebieras agua de la fuente de la eterna juventud cuando recuperas ese espíritu, esa cosa que aviva la llama en ti y que te hace sentir mucho mejor.
Los últimos días, las últimas semanas, las he pasado despertando hasta las 6 de la mañana y con gran placer.
Hasta el punto de que puedo decir, afortunadamente, que he abandonado las actividades aquí en HIVE.
Y eso es algo que me hace sentir muy bien, porque estar aquí me consume mucho tiempo y no veo resultados suficientes, como les he estado diciendo últimamente.
Me hace muy, muy feliz porque me hace ver otro aspecto diferente de la vida y tratar con otras personas que no solo hablan desde arriba y desde abajo sobre HIVE todo el tiempo.
Sé que esto ocupa sus vidas, pero para mí es muy importante, después de estar ocho años aquí en HIVE, tener otro tipo de actividad.
Y, sobre todo, saber que en el lugar donde estoy la gente no sabe sobre HIVE.
Y realmente no quiero que lo sepan, porque mezclar esta actividad que hago aquí en HIVE con la otra que me tiene despierto durante semanas con gran placer, creo que intoxicaría y ensuciaría todo este sentimiento de alegría que estoy teniendo.
Realmente me siento muy feliz porque una cosa no tiene nada que ver directamente con la otra.
Y lo importante es que me siento bien y que no es un mito todo esto que estoy sintiendo.
Pensé que sería muy difícil en la vida poder sentirme tan bien como me sentí en esos años que jugué Warcraft. Y quise compartir este sentimiento y esta nueva forma de ver las cosas, porque me da un punto de vista más refrescante y mucho mejor que el que tenía anteriormente.
