This is a topic of which I have something very particular to say, because talking about credibility is something that touches my heart a lot, especially because of the number of events and stages that have happened to me in life.
To understand this, you have to have a little context. I'm going to talk to you about a very personal situation in my life.
As you know, coming from a dysfunctional family with an abusive father, due to different circumstances in life, both my mother and my father became sick with dementia.
I had to take care of both of them for approximately two and a half years while they suffered from this monstrous and terrible ailment.
Taking care of a person who suffers from dementia is a very complicated task, especially if you do not have the tools to know what it is or how to handle this person, and without having constant advice from a specialist who could dedicate himself to the case.
The doctors who diagnosed each of them—both mom and dad—in this condition were simply government doctors, and they did not tell me in detail how to treat these people.
I had to do an investigation and ask different doctors and look for information on the internet to know how to deal with and take care of these people in the best way, both for their mental health and my own, because the mental wear and tear is obviously very large.
What has to do with today's issue of credibility is that, after so much treatment and so much care that I gave each of them, obviously they came to the end of their lives.
But what happens—and has to do with today's issue—is that in the neighborhood where I live, which is a place full of gossip and rumors from people who do not have anything better to do but to take care of other people's lives (in this case, mine), believing that they know my life and my situations better than I do, they began to mess with my credibility.
They said that it was because of me that they had become sick with dementia, both in the case of my mother and in the case of my father.
Precisely today, I was talking to this friend that I told you about in the previous post about this—that people did not really know what had happened—because they said that I put them in a nursing home to be able to live my life better.
And it really was not like that, because I found myself in an extremely difficult situation in which I had two options: either dedicate myself only to take care of them and not work (I could not generate money, and I was going to run out of money to be able to give them what they needed), or find another solution.
They consumed diapers, food, personal hygiene articles of daily use, clothes, and apart from that, the institution where they were asked for certain collaborations and certain things that had to be taken, without counting the things that they were asking for later, such as wheelchairs, sticks, etc. And all that came out of my pocket.
At that time, I did not have a job, and I had to make the decision to put my mother—and then my father, years later, after my mother died—in a nursing home so that I could work and pay for things.
But people damaged my credibility. I lost credibility among people because they decided to crucify me as the cause of their illness, and on that side, I lost credibility with them—which displeases me, really.
And I lost credibility in all of them, in all the people who live here, because that was the good side that showed me who each of the people is and what they thought and what they talk about me.
Today, I am far away, and I absolutely do not want to have anything to do with any of those individuals because I know exactly what they talked about me.
And obviously, I am quite resentful toward them, and I do not plan to give my arm to twist for any reason. I don’t want to participate in any activity in which they are involved or that they are driving, because it simply repulses me.
Credibility is something that is very important and very valuable and must be respected—the merits that each person has, that has managed to strengthen and grow their credibility in their well-being, for their future, for their life, and a good life.
This is the example of what I can say about credibility: whoever has it should keep it, and whoever observes it should respect it and value it, because it is a great treasure.
Este es un tema del cual tengo algo muy particular que decir, porque hablar de credibilidad es algo que me toca mucho el corazón, especialmente por la cantidad de eventos y etapas que me han sucedido en la vida.
Para entender esto, hay que tener un poco de contexto. Voy a hablarte de una situación muy personal en mi vida.
Como sabes, al venir de una familia disfuncional con un padre abusivo, debido a diferentes circunstancias en la vida, tanto mi madre como mi padre enfermaron de demencia.
Tuve que cuidar de ambos durante aproximadamente dos años y medio mientras padecían este monstruoso y terrible mal.
Cuidar a una persona que sufre de demencia es una tarea muy complicada, especialmente si no tienes las herramientas para saber qué es o cómo manejar a esta persona y sin tener el consejo constante de un especialista que pudiera dedicarse al caso, porque los médicos que diagnosticaron a cada uno de ellos, tanto a mi madre como a mi padre, en esta condición, eran simplemente médicos del gobierno y no me explicaron en detalle cómo tratar a estas personas.
Tuve que hacer una investigación y preguntar a diferentes médicos y buscar información en internet para saber cómo lidiar y cuidar a estas personas de la mejor manera, tanto por su salud mental como por la mía, porque el desgaste mental es obviamente muy grande.
Lo que tiene que ver con el tema de hoy, la credibilidad, es que después de tanto tratamiento y tanto cuidado que les di a cada uno de ellos, obviamente llegaron al final de sus vidas.
Pero lo que ocurre y tiene que ver con el tema de hoy es que en el vecindario donde vivo, que es un lugar lleno de chismes y rumores de personas que no tienen nada mejor que hacer que meterse en la vida de los demás, en este caso en mi vida, creyendo que conocen mi vida y mis situaciones mejor que yo, comenzaron a dañar mi credibilidad, diciendo que fue por mí que ellos habían enfermado de demencia, tanto en el caso de mi madre como en el de mi padre.
Precisamente hoy estaba hablando con este amigo que te mencioné en el post anterior sobre esto, que justamente la gente no sabía realmente lo que había pasado, porque decían que los metí en un asilo para poder vivir mi vida mejor, y realmente no fue así, porque me encontré en una situación extremadamente difícil en la que tenía dos opciones: o dedicarme solo a cuidarlos y no podía trabajar, no podía generar dinero y me iba a quedar sin recursos para darles lo que necesitaban, porque consumían pañales, comida, artículos de higiene personal de uso diario, ropa, y aparte de eso, la institución donde estaban pedía ciertas colaboraciones y ciertas cosas que había que llevar, sin contar las cosas que luego iban pidiendo, como sillas de ruedas, bastones, etc.
Todo eso salía de mi bolsillo.
En ese momento no tenía trabajo y tuve que tomar la decisión de ingresar a mi madre y luego a mi padre, años después, cuando mi madre ya había fallecido, en un asilo para poder trabajar y pagar por todo.
Pero la gente dañó mi credibilidad, perdí credibilidad entre las personas porque decidieron crucificarme como la causa de su enfermedad, y por ese lado perdí credibilidad con ellos, lo cual me disgusta mucho, realmente.
Perdí credibilidad en todos ellos, en todas las personas que viven aquí, porque ese fue el lado bueno que me mostró quién es cada una de esas personas y lo que pensaban y lo que hablaban de mí.
Hoy estoy lejos y no quiero tener absolutamente nada que ver con ninguno de esos individuos, porque sé exactamente lo que hablaron de mí y obviamente estoy bastante resentido con ellos, y no planeo dar mi brazo a torcer por ninguna razón.
No quiero participar en ninguna actividad en la que ellos estén involucrados o que ellos impulsen, porque simplemente me repugna y me da muchisimo ASCO.
La credibilidad es algo que es muy importante y muy valioso, y se deben respetar los méritos que cada persona tiene, que ha logrado fortalecer y hacer crecer su credibilidad en su bienestar, para su futuro, para su vida y una buena vida.
Este es el ejemplo de lo que puedo decir sobre la credibilidad. Quien la tiene, que la conserve, y quien la observe, que la respete y la valore, porque es un gran tesoro.
