The Illustration
I made for the prompt Ten Years Of Darkness.
Today I was approached by @jayna with the proposal to join her in her quest for the Dark Story. Since I am a photographer, she first asked me about suitable photos that I might have. It turned out I had enough darky darks but still, they were not exactly what her idea was about.
So she asked me...something like...
You don't happen to have a picture of someone walking in a grayish-brown cloud, do you?
I had none that I could think of at the moment. Probably I have photos with figures on them among Some dust...but Some dust wouldn't do.
Then it dawned on me (yeah, it was still dawn around here) that I could just try to paint one such image in watercolor.
And this is what popped out ;)
Well, since we live in quite different time zones and it's hard to be sure about any simultaneous attacks, I shall just post my piece as a teaser before her story hits the scene.
Well, it took more than five minutes because...each layer of paint needs to dry up a bit before starting with the next one. But free it was. Meaning, I felt happy doing it and I painted pretty loosely, feeling, not thinking. That's why most of it is more abstract than realistic. But I think in visual art that can be a bonus. Leaving space for imagination.
Modern photographers tend to focus too much on sharpness and technical perfection. While there's this theory about non-sharp images that influence people on another level, more like the way instrumental music does.
What's your music of choice in this case?
Peace!
Also, good luck and have fun, people!
