Hello, dear Hivers!
This is my entry to #WeekendFreewrite, a very funny and practical challenge for writers organized by @mariannewest. If you want to participate or want to know more about it click here

Invisible Windfall
“To driving!” Myrtle took a swig from her wine glass. She couldn’t believe she finally had her driving license. She was never going to forget that day! Although her mother wanted to celebrate it in a very expensive restaurant, Myrtle only wanted to spend the whole day driving, and bragging about her new license.
“To driving!” The rest of the family cheered and the humble living room filled with clinking glasses.
“I’ll be right back” Myrtle whispered to her mother.
“Where are you going?” She didn’t have to answer, her mother knew her proud daughter well enough to know where she was going. So Myrtle just walked out the room followed by the words “Just be careful!”
No one looked at her, no one seemed to be aware of her presence; she was probing the very depths of insignificance. Even though she clearly had the window of her new car down with her license in hand, her friends just continued walking outside that little coffee shop they loved to go together. What was going on?
“Hey!” She yelled and her friends turned around looking for the source of that yell. They looked around where Myrtle was, but didn’t see her, it was like she was invisible. Her anger pushed her out of the car to confront them, but the weirdest thing happened:
“Why are you ig--”
“FUCK!” The three of her friends exclaimed. “Where did you come out from?” said the taller.
“What do you mean? From my ca--” then she turned around but her car wasn’t there.
Myrtle didn’t know the great windfall she had just in front of her, well actually, didn’t see. Her friends began to laugh, as if it was a joke Myrtle was making, and after a short conversation of what Linda was going to wear for her date with David, they walked away and arranged to meet the next day at school. When they were far enough, Myrtle decided to look for her car. She seemed a mime, trying to get her meaning across with signs. She stepped back a few minutes, and remembered that weird liquid that fell on her windshield while she was driving towards the coffee shop. Was it some invisible potion? Nah, it had to be something chemical, right? RIGHT?.
She finally hit something. She was still looking like a mime; the only difference was that the mimes didn’t disappear when they got into their invisible car.
I hope you enjoyed it!
