The Universe bears witness,
that through this wreck;
this disaster of a union,
In the heat of the Inferno,
I gave my all,
to hold up my end.
Though the scars are there,
perfumed with the smell,
Of love's crematory stench.
And drenched in dirt,
from the dust we threw in our faces;
I never for once,
Stopped hoping for the best.
And while we both looked away,
I still held your hands,
Hoping to start all over again.
And while the knot was torn,
I still wore my half,
with all the pride in the world,
While you dumped yours,
Into oblivion.
Slowly, the green pastures we lay,
became as cattle hay,
as you irksomely put on grey,
and of the why, you'd say,
"this love is as the ashes of a once bright ember".
But I was dressed for every single day,
decked in red and white flowers,
Hoping this love blossoms all over.
Yes we crashed in the end,
and this love is dead.
but the pitiable coward in you,
was the final blow;
I fought for us,
But you gave up on us.
I was beating a dead horse;
And yes! it was a rough ride,
But even before the neigh of the horse,
You could see a wide chasm,
While all there was,
Was a glitch.
