In the picture above, I see an old cemetery, and dry trees in it, and there is a grave that is fenced with iron bars.
I feel the grave with the iron bar is fenced because of the belief that the person buried there has some power to harm the living even in death. The iron bar is to chain the spirit from coming out.
the story behind the picture
Holy Mary, fun of grace, the lord is with you, blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus. The reverend father mutters the prayers even faster and rolls the rosary beads swiftly as sweat drench his white gown as he paced up and down in the room with his eyes fixed on the woman in labour. While the midwife stood there, leaning on the wall looking pale and tired, she had been battling with the labour case for six(6) hours and it was now 1:53am.
Sister Magdalene's prayer point every night for the past 19 years has been one thing, let me hear the cry of a baby in my arms as my own. Nothing good comes easy as they say, she has endured carrying the pregnancy for 15 months after 20 years of her childlessness. "He is a miracle child" sister Magdalene had insisted, when a reverend referred to the child in her womb as a "child of torment."
The torment started right from the day she took in, till the day she was to give birth to the child. 6 hours of excruciating pain in labour. He is a cursed child that is in need of blood, but I assure you, the lord will fight your battle sister Magdalene, the reverend said as he handed her a rosary. She was now laying almost lifeless to protest the calling of her child a cursed child as it was her habit when something negative was said against her unborn child.
Push... Push... Push, the midwife continued urging her while the reverend's prayer was becoming even more heated as he switched from reciting the rosary to saying prayers in latin. The lantern that was hanging on the wall fell and a sudden darkness came upon the room leaving only the brightness of the rosary held by the reverend and sister Magdalene to lighten the room. It was at that moment that the cry of a child was held. The reverend who had stopped the prayer after hearing the cry of a baby, had gone to pick the lantern up and hang it in its place, only then did they see the child was having one eye fixed in his forehead and having an adult tooth eating the placenta that followed him out. "Jesus" the midwife and the reverend screamed simultaneously. Sister Magdalene was laying lifeless not knowing what was happening. The reverend who had stopped praying began the prayers again and the midwife stood by the door shivering and saying the prayers but hardly audible. The child fell from the wooden bed and hit his head on the floor and died. After some hours that sister Magdalene regained consciousness, she was told all that happened and she cried controllably.
'The Child was a cursed child, his soul needed to be chained using a fence to prevent him from leaving this grave to torment another family again' the reverend father said as he poured some liquid substance to the corpse of the child before burying it. The iron bars were used to fence the grave of the child after saying a series of prayers. Sister Magdalene never stops visiting the grave of her child to drop some flowers every month. The above picture was captured two weeks after she dropped the flowers.
