This is my post for #freewriters 2516 prompt greeting the unwelcome hosted by @mariannewest
This is a strange storm, it was a low pressure area in the Pacific and crossed into the Gulf, which does not happen very often. And now it will travel east, this is unheard of. On the above map you can see they placed a S, H, and M in the center of the cone, the S stands for a tropical storm, H is a hurricane and M is a major hurricane.

I am on the east coast right where the yellow arrow exits the State. This thing can move in either direction and preparing for them is a lot like you are greeting the unwelcome. My husband went today and filled up what gas cans we have before the lines started. Tomorrow I will fill every jug that I can find with drinking water and put them in the freezer. We should be good with what food we have and we have two generators to help keep the freezers and fridge going. So we are about as ready as we can be.
Please pray this system stays south and does not bring any more rain to the Carolinas. Hopefully, it will go into the Atlantic and stay on its eastward path.
I took my swimming pool down today, even though the weather is still warm enough to get in it, I was afraid if we got a lot of rain it would bust it and it is October so even without the storm, it is time for it to be put away.
