Pront: Lost momentum.
The ship was sailing in the Atlantic Ocean, its crew of fishermen was happy, as the tuna fishing was being very fruitful, which made the whole crew happy.
While the fishermen were doing their fishing, the ship's captain received a call on the radio. It was the Coast Guard station, who informed them of a storm that was rapidly forming in the area they were in.
The captain, an experienced and respected man among the sailors, decided it was time to abandon fishing and return to port to avoid any dangerous situation. He informed his crew of the approaching storm and together they began to prepare the ship for the return trip.
However, before they could pack up all the catch and set course for home, the storm hit with all its fury. Giant waves pounded the boat, which rose and fell in the midst of the raging sea. To make matters worse, the ship's engine failed, leaving them with lost engine thrust and no way to escape the clutches of the storm.
As the waves pounded the ship mercilessly, the captain watched the direction of the currents. He sensed that they were pulling them in a specific direction. With this in mind, he decided to take advantage of the strength of the currents to try to escape the storm.
Slowly, the ship, even with lost momentum, began to move forward, overcoming the waves and away from the storm. It was a monumental effort by the captain and crew, but in the end they made it.
Amazement was reflected on the fishermen's faces when, after the storm, they found themselves close to Greenland. They had traveled much farther than they would have imagined, but at least they were safe. They thanked their captain for his astuteness and for guiding them to a place where they could repair the engine and prepare to return home.

5 Minutos de Escritura Libre: Barco a la deriva. Texto original.
Indicación: Impulso perdido.
El barco estaba navegando en el océano atlántico, su tripulación de pescadores estaba contenta, ya que la pesca de atún estaba siendo muy fructífera, lo que alegraba a toda la tripulación.
Mientras los pescadores hacían su labor de pesca, el capitán del barco recibió una llamada por radio. Era la estación de Guarda Costas, quienes les informaron sobre una tormenta que se estaba formando rápidamente en la zona en la que se encontraban.
El capitán, un hombre experimentado y respetado entre los marineros, decidió que era momento de abandonar la pesca y regresar a puerto para evitar cualquier situación peligrosa. Les informó a su tripulación sobre la tormenta que se avecinaba y juntos comenzaron a preparar el barco para el regreso.
Sin embargo, antes de que pudieran empacar toda la pesca y poner rumbo a casa, la tormenta azotó con toda su furia. Las olas gigantes golpeaban el barco, que se elevaba y caía en medio del mar enfurecido. Para empeorar las cosas, el motor del barco falló, dejándolos con el impulso perdido del motor y sin forma de escapar de las garras de la tormenta.
A medida que las olas golpeaban el barco sin piedad, el capitán observó la dirección de las corrientes. Percibió que estas los estaban arrastrando hacia una dirección específica. Con esto en mente, decidió aprovechar la fuerza de las corrientes para intentar escapar de la tormenta.
Poco a poco, el barco, aun con el impulso perdido, comenzó a avanzar, superando las olas y alejándose de la tormenta. Fue un esfuerzo monumental del capitán y la tripulación, pero al final lo lograron.
El asombro se reflejó en los rostros de los pescadores cuando, después de la tormenta, se encontraron cerca de Groenlandia. Habían viajado mucho más lejos de lo que se hubieran imaginado, pero al menos estaban a salvo. Agradecieron a su capitán por su astucia y por haberlos guiado hacia un lugar donde pudieran reparar el motor y prepararse para regresar a casa.
