What I really need is a cup of water, not a cup of ginger tea. I've had several cups of black tea already today. I'm trying to quit coffee, or at least cut down, and I drink the best black tea I can find to substitute for coffee. But, alas, nothing quite does the trick like coffee does. I tried English Breakfast, Ceylon, and South Cloud Yunnan today, with pecan cookies that my friend makes and sells in her antique store/coffee shop. Yummiest cookies in the world, and boy do they go great with coffee! They go good with black tea too, but not as good as with coffee! I drink my coffee down to the last drop - it's good to the last drop, what coffee used that as a tag line? - but I leave a good inch or two of tea in my cups, becasue they JUST DON'T DO THE TRICK LIKE COFFEE DOES.
I am an addict to a few substances, coffee the least among them in terms of how harmful it can be, and many say a little coffee has benefit. I'm sure it does. Just like alcohol probably does, or weed, or sugar, or a great many things that we simply consume far too much of. The substance, if natural, is not to blame. We are to blame in our tendency to do things to excess. It does not help that we are inundated with advertising pushing these toxic substances nearly everywhere we go. Except TV. Alcohol, tobacco ads have been banned there, for, you know, our safety.
On TV we are inundated with advertising pushing different toxic substance on us - pharmaceuticals.
This is my entry to @mariannewest's daily freewrite challenge. Today's prompt is ginger tea.
