The Next Generation of Communication
The biggest challenge in human communication is the understanding of the intent.
The same words, the same sentences even, can mean different things. Their value is changed based on the speaker, location, timing, and tone, amongst other qualities. Even then, you may have excellent actors and liars who, are able to mask these tones into genuine ones.
Historically, sub-sections of humanity have struggled with communication. In addition to neurodivergent interpretations, there are cultural differences and power dynamics at play. Disadvantaged people often have to rely and trust due to a power imbalance.
That is why our AI Lens is introducing, IntentOn. This new feature assists the wearers to decipher the intent of the speakers. A coloured aura will faintly show around the speaker to highlight the emotion underlying their message. Optionally, users who prefer specifics can enable the bubble that shows the intent in words, as well as a subtitled transcription to help them navigate the conversation.
IntentOn reads physical language, such as twitching of eyebrows or the intensity of the facial muscles. This is then checked against two datapoints from the ever-growing learning machine. A global dataset of generic understanding, and a more detailed analysis based on the historic data of the individual and patterns in similar demographics.
This feature has been tailored to also work for video calls, without accessibility of the full body in your eyesight.
We acknowledge that deception is a key part of social communication. However, we cannot justify this when marginalised people are gaslit and suffer at the injustices when they believe false speakers. Or how millions have suffered from domestic abuse by having faith in their partners' speech.
