The Forgotten Isle: Part II
Years have passed, the seasons turned,
Yet still, my heart for that isle yearned.
Through every voyage, every tide,
I sought the place where dreams abide.
I wandered far, through distant seas,
Chasing whispers on the breeze.
Through tempests wild and waters calm,
Guided by the memory’s balm.
I asked the sailors, old and wise,
If they had seen that hidden prize.
But they just shook their heads and sighed,
"For such a place, the sea’s too wide."
I searched in charts, in ancient lore,
For clues that might reveal the shore.
But all I found were empty lines,
No trace of where that island shines.
And so I sailed, year after year,
Driven by a hope, sincere.
Through countless dawns and endless nights,
Beneath the stars’ indifferent lights.
Then one still night, as moonlight gleamed,
I drifted off and lightly dreamed.
And there it was, the isle once more,
Its golden sands, its tranquil shore.
I woke with tears, my heart aflame,
And knew that it was still the same.
That place I’d found, that secret land,
Existed not by mortal hand.
It lived within, a sacred space,
A sanctuary time can’t erase.
No longer lost, no longer gone,
The isle was where my soul had drawn.
And in that moment, I understood,
The island was not lost, but stood
In every breath, in every thought,
In the peace and love that it had brought.
So now, when waves are wild and high,
I close my eyes and hear the sigh
Of gentle winds in trees of green,
In that forgotten isle unseen.
For though I never find it true,
It lives within, a world anew.
A place where dreams and memories meet,
An isle where my heart finds its beat.
