A letter written in blood, with broken lines that were barely legible, now rested in Aaron's trembling hands.
"A letter was written to me... What disgusting words! How could someone allow himself to play such a stupid joke with me!"
He put the letter aside and started checking the condition of his house, an old house that he had inherited from his great grandfather and decided to live in after completing his studies abroad.
"This place needs extensive repairs."
Aron was not technically skilled at all. So he took his cell phone and started searching on Google.
"One Eyed Lord Technical Services Company. What a strange name! But customers have written good reviews about it. I'd better call here."
Aron requested a worker on that company's website and then went to his room and lay down on his wooden bed. The bed creaked and the sheets smelled damp. Aaron tried to ignore these unpleasant things and closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep.
A corridor with black stone walls and torches installed on both sides. Aron was walking in this corridor and uttering strange unintelligible expressions under his breath that he himself did not understand their meaning.
As he walked further, he saw someone at the end of the corridor. The person wearing a long red cloak had long straight shiny black hair and wore a white mask on his face.
When Aaron reached within a few feet of him, he sat on his knees and bent his back.
"My Lord!"
The cloaked person said in a low hoarse voice:
"Did you read the letter I wrote to you with my own blood?"
"Yes, my lord. I was so relieved when I realized my true identity. What could be better than being a creature made according to your plan and scenario?"
"So now reach the end of perfection."
At this moment, the cloaked person removed his mask and Aron saw that his closed eyelids were sewn to the skin of his face and a black eye was painted on his forehead.
The iris of the eye started to rotate and Aron was drawn towards it. The black eye got closer and closer and finally Aron sank into it.
The loud sound of the doorbell woke Aaron up, and he went to the door and opened it, with cold sweat on his body and breathing heavily.
"I am a plumbing worker, on behalf of One Eyed Lord."
Aaron looked at him from head to toe, long curly black hair, flawless white skin, Victorian pantsuit and neckerchief. He did not look like a worker.
"Come in."
The worker came in and Aaron guided him to the bathroom and went to the kitchen to get him a drink.
The worker started checking the pipes and said to himself:
"I guessed right. This house has already been marked for a suction ceremony. Poor Aaron was lucky to have a fake worker come to his house, not a real worker from the One Eyed Lord."
The worker took out a bottle full of blood from his tool bag and took the cork and started drinking.
"Anyway, their dear one eyed master will finally call them after waiting for a while, and I will be revealed. I must be ready to fight."
He said this and then went out of the bathroom and sat somewhere in the reception room with folded knees and started meditating.
Aaron turned and was surprised when he saw the worker in that state.
"Um, mate?"
The worker opened his closed eyes and stood up.
"The pipes are fixed, but this house has more serious problems."
"Yes, I know. For other problems, I will contact the One Eyed Lord company."
The worker immediately said:
"No, don't."
Aron asked in surprise:
"Why?"
"They are not trustworthy at all. I myself am going to resign from there soon."
"So what company do you recommend?"
"The Raven's Wing company. I will call them myself and arrange for them to come to your house."
"Excellent. Thank you, Mr.?"
"I'm Midhurst, Godfrey Midhurst."
"Thank you, Mr. Midhurst."
"Please, Mr. Redeemer."
"Here's a drink."
"I don't want to, thanks."
And they shook hands and Godfrey left the house. Of course not completely. He went to the roof and waited for the chaos that was going to break out around this house that night.
Aaron was sitting on his broken couch in the hall and had a strange feeling. He thought about the contents of that letter, his nightmare and the plumber, and felt that he had inadvertently entered a game. Or maybe he was in the game from the beginning and he was unaware?
He got up and went to the window. It was almost dark and now the forest trees looked like menacing ghosts. Aaron was under a strange stress. Why did he feel that something bad was going to happen?
Suddenly, he saw a spot moving in this direction through the trees. Aaron's stomach started twisting. What was that? Could it be a wild animal?
Aron went and picked up the big gun that was on the wall and came back to the window, swallowed and stared at the moving point. The point came further and further until finally its human figure was revealed.
Aron breathed a sigh of relief, but then told himself that maybe that person had evil intentions and it would be better to keep his defensive guard.
Finally, the person came so close that his long red curly hair and long liver coat were visible. Aron stared at him while holding his breath, and the more the person came forward, the more he pressed his hand on the gun.
The red haired stranger came further and further until he reached a distance of a few meters from the house and Aron could see his face. The stranger had white skin, green eyes, and a calculating expression on his face. He moved his gaze over the house as if weighing something.
At this moment, something suddenly jumped down from the roof and made Aron jump up. Aaron narrowed his eyes and realized that back of the thing, or actually, the person looked a lot like the plumber, same long black hair and same suit. But what was that worker doing on the roof?
While Aron was looking at this scene and trying to understand what was going on, the worker or Godfrey went to the red haired stranger and called his name with pain in his eyes.
"Nathan!"
A feeling of sadness appeared in the eyes of the stranger or Nathan, but he immediately removed this feeling from his eyes and said in a cold tone:
"You shouldn't have come here. You shouldn't have tried to interfere with my work."
Godfrey said in a pained tone.
"Why are you doing this?"
"You know the reason very well. You ignored me, you counted me as nothing, and thus you threw me into the valley of darkness with your own hands."
"Nathan, I told you before. I had to do it. I had no choice."
At this time, Nathan's cold tone gave way to a tearful tone.
"Are you saying you had to leave me in the fire and save Rosalie?"
Tears filled Godfrey's eyes.
"You know. I could only save one of you two and I had to choose her because I owed it to her."
Tears gathered in Nathan's eyes and flowed down his cheeks.
"Do you know what torment I endured in those moments? I saw how you came into the room and without even looking at me, hugged Rosalie and left."
"If I looked at you, I couldn't let you go."
Nathan said nothing and stared at a spot under his feet for a few moments. Then he raised his head and said again in a cold tone:
"There's no point talking about this anymore. Just as you owe Rosalie, I owe the One Eyed Lord. He saved my life, and now it's my turn to save his."
Nathan walked towards the house, but Godfrey blocked his way.
"Don't do it. I don't want to mess with you and hurt you."
Nathan grinned.
"You killed me completely with what you did. There's nothing left of me that you want to hurt."
He said this and started running towards the front door of the house. Godfrey jumped towards him, grabbed his arm and threw him a few meters back.
As he rolled to the ground, Nathan drew his gun and began firing at Godfrey, but Godfrey dodged each bullet with his superhuman quickness.
Nathan got up and ran to the door again, but Godfrey caught him again and threw him back with much more force this time, so that the bones in Nathan's back and shoulder were broken and he screamed to the heavens.
Nathan sobbed as he groaned in pain.
"Is this what you're doing to me? Do you really want to destroy me?"
Godfrey said firmly.
"It is you who has buckled down to your own destruction."
And then he ran to the door of the house and started knocking. Aron, who had been watching the scene of Godfrey and Nathan's fight with wide eyes all this time, immediately ran to the door and opened it.
Godfrey entered and closed the door behind him.
"Aron, pack up quickly. It's not safe here. I'm taking you with me to the Raven's Wing organization."
"Tell me what's the matter? Who are you indeed? Who is that person you had a fight with? Why did you have a fight with him? Did he come after me?"
"I'm a vampire and I work in the Raven's Wing anti darkness organization. The person who came here was one of the underlings of the One Eyed Lord."
Aron remembered that letter written in blood and his nightmare again. He swallowed and said with a trembling voice:
"The One Eyed Lord?"
"Yes, there is a fact about you and him that I will explain to you when we go to the organization."
Aaron said as if the soul had left his body.
"You don't have to, I know. I am the product of an illegitimate marriage between a werewolf and the One Eyed Lord. I was born to be sacrificed for my father one day."
