Words: score, journal, cousin, bench, home, technique, spirit.
Abmel was sitting on a bench in the park and was reading one of the journal articles of Almost Friendly Duels. As she read each word, her face became redder and she pressed her fingers more and more on the pages.
"How could they write such disparaging things about me! I only lost the fight to my cousin because I lost my concentration.
I just hope Gabriel won't read this article. The fact that he witnessed the fight between me and Prisca is enough for me."
Abmel crumpled the journal and threw it in a corner. After that, she got up to walk a little and renew her nerves, when suddenly something fell on her head.
She touched it with her hand and realized that it was bird droppings.
"Oh, damn you birds! Don't you see what situation I'm in, why do you do these things to me?"
She shook her fist in the air at the birds and took a handkerchief from her shirt pocket and wiped the mess from her hair, then began to walk through the park and review the scenes of her duel with Prisca.
Until the middle of the duel, it wasn't too bad and even her score was close to her opponent's. But then she suddenly saw Gabriel in the audience and was completely distracted.
For a moment, Gabriel's fiery red hair, ocean blue eyes, and enchanting smile were the only things she could see, and that was enough time for Prisca to perform her chopper strike technique on Abmel.
The crushing blows of Prisca's hands landed on Abmel's face one after the other, and finally poor Abmel lost consciousness and fell on the ground while the space around was spinning around her.
When she woke up in the hospital bed, she saw Gabriel standing next to her and smiled, but then she realized that it was the nurse, not Gabriel. The truth was, even if she died, Gabriel wouldn't care.
She sighed and as lost in her thoughts, she suddenly came to herself and realized that she had left the park and entered a deserted alley with a wooden home at the end of it.
Looking at the scene made her body hair stand up and she decided to leave as soon as possible. But just as she was about to turn away, a fiery male spirit flew towards her from inside the home.
Abmel shouted.
"My God!"
And immediately she drew a cross on her chest with her fingers. The spirit smiled kindly at her and said in a voice that sounded more like an angel than an evil being.
"You don't have to be afraid of me. I've come here to help you. Make a contract with me and let me inhabit your body. I'll make you become the queen of the martial artist community.
No one will make fun of you anymore. Everyone will respect you, and above all, your beloved Gabriel will fall in love with you."
As if under a spell, Abmel looked at the flaming face of the spirit and visualized all the things he had said in her mind and smiled unconsciously.
"How wonderful! This is the life I've always dreamed of."
The spirit reached out to her.
"Then make a pact with me."
Abmel came forward and then with a quick movement she took out a bottle from her coat pocket and sprinkled its contents on the spirit. The spirit screamed in pain and its flames went out and steam rose from its body into the air.
"Damn Abmel! I treated you with kindness and civility, but look what you did to me!"
Abmel said calmly:
"How did you expect me to deal with an evil being? Go back to hell. I'm not yet weak enough to cooperate with the likes of you."
And she turned and left the alley. She did not know that her fate was tied to that spirit and that they would eventually become one.
