—Dijo Layra.
¡Qué has hecho!
Cyber Passion
Vary Acosta had been hired by the Galaxia Company. Although he had never divulged his research and tried to keep his work in the strictest secrecy, not even his wife had been allowed near his workplace, he kept everything hidden and when he went out with his friends, if anyone asked him, he would only say that he was researching the creation of a synthetic skin for burns and if he was successful he would sell it at a good price.
—You're going to sell it by the roll," his friends joked.
—A mechanic of complex structures, specializing in robotics, is now going to invent skin for burns, I understood that wasn't the reason for your studies.
—Now it turns out that you're going to make the fabric to cover humans, hahaha!
—Life takes many turns, but that doesn't mean I've abandoned my profession as a cybernetics engineer.
The Galaxia Company had entrusted him with the final work on a prototype of a robot similar to a human being, and when Dr. Rudolf, a senior manager of the company, gave him the responsibility, he gave him all the necessary instructions.
—This is completely secret, you, Mr. Vary, can invent whatever you create with your imagination, but even your family must not know about it. According to the agreement, you must realize that your knowledge is very valuable for the company and for the scientific and technological advancement of the world, but this work has many edges with the political power, so the board wants you to keep the information up to date and we will provide you with what you need.
—Yes, that's fine, I will, this is a great thing for me and I'm going to follow the rules sir, of course, I will!
—Have you thought of a face yet?
—Yes, I have, something personal, but also ideal.
—Well Mr. Vary, we hope for optimal results.
Layra, that was her name, he always saw her when he was doing his daily morning exercise routine, he did the same and they became good friends, he was doing research work to copy all her movements and gestures, as well as voice modulation, look and very particular reactions.
When he looked at her for the first time, it seemed to him that he was in front of the real woman, what would his friends say about the skin he had managed to create, it seemed incredible to him, but now it was his turn to breathe the life he had trapped in that valve that was going to act as a brain.
Regina had always been a passive woman, she had joined Vary when they were still students at the university, she had enrolled as an administrator because she didn't like science or technology very much, she soon got her position in a financial company dedicated to the business of cybernetic products, which by the way had commercial relations with Galaxia Company, and it was from there, that a murmur reached her, alerting her of possible marital deception, although she was not a woman to make scenes of jealousy, she began to doubt because of certain changes noticed in her husband's routine.
It was incredible, what he was seeing Vary was amazed at the final work of his prototype, now he only had to perform the last test, he contacted Dr. Rudolf to give him the instructions to follow. He told him that the board did not want to take any risks, that there was no rush and to do all the necessary tests, and not to worry about the time.
So he prepared everything to confront Layra, the woman who had served as his model without her knowledge. With everything coordinated, he went to the long-awaited visit.
—Are you alone? I need to show you something.
—You know I live practically alone, it happens. And she's your friend?
—Yes, she works with me and I want you to meet her, it'll be a nice surprise.
—I'll make some coffee, so make yourselves comfortable, put your hat over there in the corner.
—Come on, you can take off your costume Lay...
—As you say Vary.
Layra turned around when she heard that voice that seemed very familiar to her, when she saw it, she couldn't speak, it was herself as if she was in front of the mirror.
—What is this Vary?
She didn't have time to say anything else, she was sprayed by gas and fell down. Now Vary was starting a new life.
Regina had always respected her husband Vary decisions, but this time she felt she had to defend her marriage, so she went in determined.
Vary was caught caressing that face that gesticulated in a pleasant way.
—That's why you wouldn't let me in, because you had this slut with you! —said Regina angrily.
—Calm down Regina, it's not what you think!
Regina pulled out a gun and pointed it at Vary.
—Don't do it, there is an explanation. —Layra said.
—Shut up, I'll take care of you too! —And you Vary, on your knees!
—No! Don't do it, I can explain, she is part of my work, she is part of my creation.
—Don't do it, Mrs. Regina, you are misinformed.
—You fooled me, you think I didn't see you when you went jogging in the mornings, you went with her and now you have her here, of course... I can't go in, but she can.
Layra sensed that there was danger, her system immediately went on guard and she stood in front of Vary, at that moment three shots rang out, Layra fell backward.
—What have you done! What have you done! —shouted Vary at that moment, —You have damaged my work.
Regina didn't understand anything and fired again, but this time the bullets entered Vary, body, but what was her surprise, when she saw Layra get up and go against her, she grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up, at that precise moment her neck exposed part of the gear, but Regina didn't have much time to regret it, she realized her mistake too late, Layra threw her against the floor and her head crashed against one of the walls.
—Vary! Vary, are you alright?
Layra tried to revive him when a familiar voice stopped her.
—Let him die, he's just a body, now you and I will start a new life.
Layra looked at him and smiled, there was Vary, identical to the one lying on the floor.
