Finger buffet makes me think of a table full of fingers that people can eat. Would you eat your own finger if you were starving? Would you slowly eat all your extremities in order to feed your belly, until you were just a torso and a head? I guess you would bleed to death first, if you weren't careful. I'm a vegetarian, so I couldn't/wouldn't feed my starvation in this way. I guess I would just shrivel up and die. I'd eat grass first. People are eating grass in Gaza to try and soothe their starvation. Israel is starving Palestinians and the world is complacent. Oh, I know, not everyone. Some people are vocal, people are taking to the streets, people are writing poetry, people are sailing to Gaza, people are marching to Gaza. But not in the numbers that would make the difference that is needed. What will it take? Perhaps it is because we can imagine what would happen if greater numbers of people rose up, started marching to Gaza, started destroying weapons plants. What I can imagine is the military coming in and killing people en masse. How many people would have to die before...what? Before enough people rose up that we overpowered the military? That we truly had a revolution? We're nowhere near ready for a revolution, collectively consciously. But are people ever collectively ready for a revolution before a revolution happens? And if not, is this why there haven't been more successful revolutions? Just.
