The European Championship is being held in Germany 2024, all the teams are coming to the feast, as they want to take the cake, the cup so precious, that every team that participates wants to take it home and show it off in the showcase as another achievement.
But not all of them are going to make it, only one of them is the one that with grit, courage, good football and high level, will surely be the champion of such a prestigious competition, although often it is not usually so, because if we analyze the case of Croatia, I can tell you that I am disappointed to know that they have been eliminated in the group stage, because in their last game they gave their all against their similar Italy.
We saw a great match between Croatia and Italy at the Leipzig stadium, where Croatia had to give everything for everything in order to advance to the round of 16, as a draw was no good for them. The two teams played an excellent match, but in the second half, after a penalty missed by the Real Madrid legend, Luka Modrić, scored a great left-footed goal and put his team ahead in their dream of qualifying for the round of 16, regulation time ended and the referee gave 8 minutes of extra time, where with just a few seconds left the Italian Zaccagni equalised after a deadly counterattack and unfortunately left Croatia out of the competition, which disappointed me a lot for the match they had played.
Although they had the merits to go through to the next round, it was not the case, perhaps if it had not been for those long minutes of extra time given by the referee, Croatia would surely be celebrating today and maintaining their aspirations in the prestigious competition.
But this is football, full of joy for some and sadness for others.
