Hit Pause if you don't want to end up in the middle of nowhere Dad said. He caught me by surprise. I didn't know he watched me while I tried out my brother's time machine. Hit pause? Should I tell Dad I already did and broke it?
The minimum of service was what the gal we called gave us. It's not my fault you broke it, she yelled as Dad told her to find a spring feather and whatever it is how he called it. She became rude and was clearly not in a good mood. Off we went to the shop.
Out of my way, Dad warned, or your face...
Calm down Dad, please, I begged.
I felt ashamed my Dad felt bad because I hadn't ignored the machine that kept calling me in my dreams. I thought it wouldn't be such a big deal to check since my brother would never come back. I wondered how Dad knew, how did he know where I should land?
They are all mainstream, he yelled.
A pair of losers insulted me. She yelled pointing at Dad and me. Losers, we?
We better leave Dad, have you ever fought with a guy who looks like a...
Run, Dad yelled and I tried to keep up with him while I held the precious items in my hand.
We better make it, since that guy carries a pocket full of rage along with him. Let's hope we can escape in time before he ventilates!

Once at the bottom of the pile, a world of possibilities was at our feet.
Before I knew I stood at the window holding the frame while Dad did his best to reset the time.
Past or future?
Past!
All I wanted was to find my brother and to escape from the fast-approaching horror.
To do so I didn't need a five-day hike just the opportunity given by the window my sibling had left for me.
Farewell, my child, Dad said as he waved goodbye. If you find me let me know who you are and if you want I can always send you back.
A yellow light as bright as the sun shone upon me and brightened the world in front of me.
I knew it, I thought while I smiled and hopped off the frame. That lame brother who had left was my Dad from the past.
